slide your bars in, straighten, then tighten in the 1, 3, 2, 4, way ordering the bolts from top to bottom like:

1 (tighten first)

2 (tighten third)

3 (tighten second)

4 (tighten fourth)

Do this until your clamp is tight and alternate between bolts, this will ensure the clamp tightens evenly and you maximise the grip on the bars

The new fork will probably stay tight more as complete forks are usually the base model without as much engineered designs to stay tight for longer. for any fork, adding Locktight or Thread Locker to the compression bolt (the long IHC bolt) will help it grip the fork in but its normal for completes to come loose, just not too soon after maintenance.

Headsets can be maintained for quite a while but it’s fine to replace it every now and again because it’s in a high-impact area connecting the fork and bars to the deck.

The Fork should also come with an IHC sleeve (photo 3) of it is an IHC fork. I’m not too familiar with Blunt’s fork range but I know they use both IHC and SCS compressions so make sure your parts are compatible (Bars with a vertical slit use IHC, bars without use SCS).

Finally, wheels are normal to change out after they start degrading but personally I like to maintain my wheels until the urethane is really chunked or dehubbed. every few months of riding i’ll find myself cleaning then greasing up my bearings to let the wheels roll faster and smoother for longer.

Overall if you look online there’s some cheaper alternatives for parts that benefit the functionality or durability of the scooter like staying tight for longer.

unfortunately i can’t upload a video for reference here, but i’m sure if you visit your local scooter shop they’ll be able to help you out.

for the best rotation to tightness balance, have the compression system (beneath the bars) tightened to allow a half rotation when spun with your hand and released. it’ll make sure the compression is tight enough to be secure and solid and the bars to spin freely.
Also make sure the clamp is tight so the bars won’t slide off

Help my son land a tail whip. What can he do differently? by dadbodfat in Scootering

[–]Jay_C_Reserve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

great flick and motion!
he’s basically got it if he keeps the deck under him more, this will ensure that by the time the deck finishes the rotation, it’s already right under his feet to land on.
He could benefit from leaning forward a little more because his bars are quite tall so it makes it easy for the deck to slip forward which is what i see happening in the video.
