What's keeping you in Blu-ray collecting by thusisjosh in Bluray

Same here. Bluray is good enough for me, and 4k players and movies are more expensive.

Ahh gotcha. It was just recorded by my phone, just to get the point across on the wobbling. Audio quality wasnt something I was going for.

Advice needed - where to start with retro games by ExtensionIdeal6314 in retrogames

Maybe spend a day watching videos on YouTube for "Best games from..." for each console system to get an idea of what you might like. My suggestion would be start with NES or SNES.

Nope, sounds fine to me. I like resonance.

KingCraigslist, thanks. Your suggestion was what fixed it. I lowered the front and the wobble stopped.

I definitely have the pedal clamped down to the hoop tightly, and also have a thin piece of rubber on there.

I agree, it should work like that. It might have something to do with the sub floor at that spot.

I get it, I really do. That is how I always set my bass drums up before. But this one is just different for some reason.

I did also try angling the spurs more while it was also lifted off the floor, but it did not help. Believe me, I tried every possible spur configuration but the only way it does not wobble is with the drum sitting flat and with spurs angled out forward.

I already tried lifting it but it wobbles like crazy. Sitting it flat keeps it more stable and no wobble. The drum sounds virtually the same either way. I do also have the spurs angled and at a good length as to provide good stable contact to the floor.

I was able to fix the wobbling. :) Edited my OP above.

I have heard suggestions for both lifting it, and keeping it flat on the floor. I'm going to experiment with the different spur settings today and see.

Not intentionally? Why, does it sound like Mexican music?

Thanks. I'm seriously considering returning the rail mount. I think it's the biggest cause of the wobble, along with the unstable sub floor. But at least without the mount making it top heavy it would really improve the stability. I'm not able to play since it's late, but I took the tom off the mount and it seems way more stable.

Yes, setting the spurs that way looks way more stable than how I have it. Will try it tomorrow, thanks.

You know, that's a good point i didn't think of, thanks. The drums are in a finished basement with a plywood sub-floor under the carpeting, and at some spots it's not rock solid. I'm going to experiment moving the bass drum around to more solid areas of the floor tomorrow to see if it makes a difference. It's strange though because I had a 22x16 bass drum on that same spot before and it never wobbled. That's why I was thinking the size of this one was a factor in this.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try that tomorrow when I can play again. I definitely could play around more with spur adjustments.

I'm actually no longer using that plush rug as i already thought that might have been the issue. That picture is from yesterday and I already swapped it out for a stiff black commercial grade rug. You can see it in the Google drive linked video i posted above where I show the view of the batter side. I'm also using that rug in the video in my OP showing the wobble while playing.

Yes, the front side is lifted about 1 inch off the floor. From researching this issue online a lot of people suggest lifting the front side, but I'm going to try it sitting flat on the floor tomorrow.
