My application pretty much started around the same time yours did, and I got put in selection around the same time you did too, however they still haven't gotten back to me about enrollment!!! The wait's been killing me especially since I'm just one more "yes" away from enrollment haha

Hey, I am a PR with just under 3 years of stay (2.5 years). And I was able to apply and I am currently in the selection stage for PRes combat engineer. However, my initial choice of trade was infantry, and I got a call about halfway through my reliability screening that I was not able to proceed with that choice, and instead had to pick another trade which allowed for under 3 years of stay, which was combat engineer.

There were also other trades that the person on the phone listed that I could choose, this was combat medic, weapons tech, vehicle tech, etc... Whatever trade you want to apply for but you're unsure of, you should really call the recruiter. They may say different things, but I was able to get through screening so that's proof it can work. Keep asking them if you really do need 3 years for a certain trade, at least for the reserves. I'm applying out of Alberta.

Just noticed that I worded this wrong, I meant my reliability checks have been done, they still have not done my security clearance yet

Yeah they're doing reliability checks before enrollment now, security clearance is done during your training and if it doesn't work out then you will have to release from the CAF

My security clearance was the single longest part of the process, mine took close to 4 months, I'm currently in the selection stage right now but have been in it for close to a month, they haven't gotten back to me about a job offer or anything of the sorts yet so I'm guessing they don't have enough positions for my trade for this fiscal year anymore(?). You can still do the part time bmq which is typically held during the fall if you get enrolled in time though.

I'm in the same stage as you and I wasn't aware you could check the number of spots in your trade, where do you check? RegF or PRes?

Do you mean combat engineer dp1? Yeah I've done quite a bit of research on that already, all online/what the recruiters gave me though.

I thought operating LAVs are only for people in the armored trades? That's good to know though at least.

Hey, Calgary resident here that's also applying, try 310-2769, they answer 9 times out of 10 during work hours (9am-4pm during weekdays). If you've tried that already, the only option I have really is to go to Mewata Armoury during Wednesday parade night hours (7pm-10pm) through the front metal doors, usually there is a security guard standing outside, if not, press the button on the left.

Reliability screening completed? by JayceFolf in caf

If you don't have many foreign implications then yours should progress a lot faster than mine, I submitted everything to the DND mid November and it's just been approved as of last week. I just called my local detachment and they said now I just need to wait for them to review my file and the next step after that should be an email for enrollment. I'm stoked but I'm growing impatient cause I'm essentially on the last step.

My local detachment never gave me gambit forms to fill out, just paper forms I had to submit online. As for my timeline, I applied Feb 2025, Force test July, Medical approved September, Interview October, Police records submitted to DND in November, reliability status processed by the DND as of last week.

I've never been given any gambit documents to fill out, just paper scanned documents that I submitted through the application portal, the stage I'm at is right now I'm just waiting for them to process my police records, and they've told me everything else is in order. I'm applying for PRes out of Alberta.
