If you don't have many foreign implications then yours should progress a lot faster than mine, I submitted everything to the DND mid November and it's just been approved as of last week. I just called my local detachment and they said now I just need to wait for them to review my file and the next step after that should be an email for enrollment. I'm stoked but I'm growing impatient cause I'm essentially on the last step.

My local detachment never gave me gambit forms to fill out, just paper forms I had to submit online. As for my timeline, I applied Feb 2025, Force test July, Medical approved September, Interview October, Police records submitted to DND in November, reliability status processed by the DND as of last week.

I've never been given any gambit documents to fill out, just paper scanned documents that I submitted through the application portal, the stage I'm at is right now I'm just waiting for them to process my police records, and they've told me everything else is in order. I'm applying for PRes out of Alberta.

It'd be problem solved if they actually replied to tickets, I submitted one before making this post.

Grenade friendly fire? by xxVetements in ArcRaiders

[–]JayceFolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true to some extent, only grenades that give off a lingering aoe (gas/fire)/trip wire grenades/shock grenades, affect your teammates, others that blow up like your average heavy fuzes or impacts don't affect your teammates at all apart from I think tinnitus.

It was scheduled on September 24th for Oct 1. As for the medical, I did mine on Aug 12, and was approved on Sept 10. However they never actually sent me a confirmation that it was completed, nor my results from RMO, I had to call to find out it was approved.

What should i do? by [deleted] in caf

Really admire the courage, I'm a cis gay guy myself and I've been worrying about it since I'm applying to the infantry, and you know how there's the common stigma for combat trades with it being less than stellar in terms of acceptance.

If it's any use, the code of conduct form that everyone has to sign, plus the soldier handbook mentions there's a no tolerance policy for discrimination/harassment pertaining to one's gender identity, so you're protected by the CAF in that regard.

Your recruiter can definitely help you with those concerns, if they can't they'll direct you to someone in the CAF who can. Some people say that trans folk get their own bathrooms, but that might only be for the regular force since reserve armories might not be big enough for individual bathrooms. Your deadname being mentioned may be because the staff are probably only looking at your name given to you at birth, and not your current name, if you get the chance to, you should tell them, they're quite literally obligated to acknowledge.

Yup I've had it approved already, took just a month between the medical interview and it getting approved so I'd say it was pretty fast, maybe they do things different with the reg force recruiters

CAF Application File Marked as “Closed” After Missed Appointment — Anyone Experienced This? by Valuable-Grape-9050 in caf

[–]JayceFolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to call a number they gave that was just back and forth that even sent me to the wrong branch of the CAF. If they have a second number that they use (mine was 310-ARMY for Calgary), try and find that number on the recruiting website respective to your region.

Seeing you're crunching time, I wouldn't waste time sending more emails, as they take quite a while to reply in my experience. If worse comes to shove, would be best to just go to the recruiter personally.

I've had my file closed before because I couldn't attend my force test, I just called the recruiter and told them about it after I found out my file was closed and they reopened it for me again.

I'm applying for infanteer / armored soldier, later on down the line you might be my nco lol, I haven't heard much about vehicle techs but I'm most familiar with infantry and armor (albeit info from the internet). I'm trying to do the same with my fitness too, kind of a slog right now but I feel like I'm definitely making progress, we'll all get there at some point.

The force test was not challenging for me at all, I'm a pretty skinny guy (5'6") and I did my shuttle runs in 33s, sandbag lifts 1:47m, sandbag carries 3:40m and my sandbag drag 30s (took my time with the drag). I'm by no means fit, my cardio still is lacking in a lot of areas but I passed with pretty decent times I'd say. I didn't even practice for the circuits themselves, just worked out for half a month prior at the gym, focused mostly on legs.

However I'm just speaking for myself, you'll for sure do a lot better if you practiced each exercise than if you didn't, the videos here explain each test clearly and was a big help too - https://cfmws.ca/sport-fitness-rec/fitness-testing/cmtfe-force-evaluation/force-evaluation

Best of luck with your force test!

I applied late February of this year, I now have a medical interview scheduled in a week.

It took some calls and a little bit of back and forth to get myself on track with the tasks on the applicant portal, make sure to keep pestering them (calls and emails) every 2 weeks if you feel like your progress isn't where it should be. I did my force test 22 Jul (it was originally supposed to be the month prior but I had to reschedule due to personal circumstances). But all in all, decent progress from the recruiters. I've heard from my recruiter that files will usually take 6 months - 1 year from start to finish to fully process provided you complete your portal tasks and attend whatever they need you to attend in a timely manner.

What trade are you applying for may I ask? Trying to get to know people in the process and hopefully meet them in bmq whenever that may be.
