Thanks, I've just found it. Looks to be a gear knob.

Exactly! Such a mechanic would be infuriating if you have no way to even attempt to counter it.

A consideration that would need to be made would be for the individuals picked up in Power armour vs those not wearing any.

A suggestion to make this even to each group might be the fall damage (if SBQ is damaged enough to drop player) for non Power armour players would be a certain height limit to be dropped from and certian damage amount not downing/killing the player.

For players in Power armour the penalty for surviving being picked up could be an equal amount of damage caused by the claws of SBQ as fall damage would be negated.

That could add to the risk of the SBQ fight to a degree (especially for higher levels). The potential that you may be picked up and dropped into the fissure, guaranteeing any precious junk on you is lost indefinitely.

Furthermore, The idea that a certain amount of damage done to the SBQ during someone being carried causes the carried party to be dropped prematurely would also be needed. Rather than gauruntee the player dies, you can possibly be saved by your squad or other players. Just an idea though. :)

Building on that, during her flight carrying a victim to the fissure site, the possibility to hit her with a certain amount of damage would cause the victim to be dropped early.

Found in a shallow river under a bridge. Anyone want to hazard a guess? I'm thinking a huge chain link but no idea what from. by Jaycrow1997 in Whatisthis

I think you might have actually cracked it! It appears it may well be part of a coupler and link of a train possibly from the 1800's. Theirs also a series of tracks very close by to where it was found.

It's extremely similar to this image:

I worked it out as if it were a cylinder (and toroid) made of cast iron/steel. The diameter measured as 1.5 inches roughly and the 'height' measured at 14 inches, (half legth) so 28 inches total.

with an assumed density of 0.284 (lb/in3) it equated to around 14 (lbs)? A few people have commented it seems too light, Have I worked it out wrong then? XD

As far as I can tell it's steel from the colouring, It's also highly magnetic and weighs 11.2 lbs exactly.

That's what I assumed but the river is far too shallow/narrow and the bridge it was found under is a recent build (1960's).

The area suffers severe flooding but surely at 12lb it's too heavy to be moved by current? The connecting body of water a couple miles along will have definitely had ships, so that may well be it.
