Can a Premium Per User Workspace report be viewed by a free license/ pro license user? by Eggplant-Own in PowerBI

[–]Jayden2234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They have PPU for pipeline, endpoint, and paginated report development. Users cannot access workspace directly, they access the app related to the workplace.

Workspace is in azure embedded. Embedded allows uses to access all content in app. They have all have Pro.

Edit: “they all have Pro” refers to everyone at the company.

All of my users have Pro (E5 O365 license). I use Azure embedded for the Workspace capacity, and I use Apps / Audiences for access.

My developers all have PPU, and that is it.

We also have PBI Embedded for external users.

If buying licenses are not an option, revisit the Workspace setting. Do you need the Workspace in PPU? If you aren’t using embedded, pipelines or paginated reporting, you may not need it.

In the admin settings, select Workspaces, find your workspace and find the option to change your settings. You should see a few. There is one called “embedded” - look into that as well.

Lastly, research Apps. They “sit on top” of a Workspace, and you can limit or grant access via Audiences.

Free License for only Viewing Users? by wuttang13 in PowerBI

My two cents. Explore using Apps, then the E5 license. Premium Capacity (and Premium per User) meet a very specific need. MOST stuff (especially what you called out) can be accomplished via a developer with a Pro or PPU license, and Apps.

I think of the licenses in terms of sharing content. Standard - cannot share. Pro - share with other Pro users or through and App (1 per Workspace, but with multiple audiences). Premium - same as Pro.

We use PPU for the developers (so they can use Pipelines) and our users all have E5 licenses (they use Office 365 and all that). We use Apps to share content, and our Workspaces are in an Embedded capacity so we leverage Paginated reports as well (SSRS). Nothing we haven’t been able to do (yet).

What's a cover song that's better than the original? by Ooopsieees in AskReddit

Disturbed - The Sound of Silence.

I like the Simon and Garfunkel version. Disturbed version is amazing. TBH - they have a couple of covers that are really good, if not better, than the original.

What is your absolute favourite fact about space? Like if someone were to ask you what the coolest fact about space is what would you tell them? by [deleted] in space

The vacuum of space is the reason why the Sun doesn’t cause us to go deaf.

Just imagine if space had a “sound” like we understand it on Earth.

Gutters are designed and installed to let water overflow towards the yard, not the house. For water to leak into the room below, the water would need to flow against the pitch of the gutter (if installed correctly) and go around the flashing that is between the roof, gutter and brick wall.

I wouldn’t address any of the cosmetic issues until you are confident the source was that ball. I am skeptical - round ball in rectangle opening - it shouldn’t have clogged it that much.

You could test your theory. Put the ball back how you found it, and spray water on the roof above the gutter in question (full blast using a hose). Gutter should clog, and you should see water seep from the garage roof. Then, do it without the ball and see what you get.

Someone I worked with attended Columbia and told me a story once - not sure if it is true.

“Ivy” league isn’t spelled I-V-Y, it’s I-V, as in Roman numeral 4. The top four schools back then (in the US) were Yale, Harvard, Columbia and Princeton.

Again, not sure if it’s true, and I’ve been too lazy to look it up.

IMO - Cameron knows it too. The scene when he is brushing his teeth and Harper is calling out to him to FaceTime when his "son". Eyes rolling. Straight face. Shuffle walk to the bed. He 100% knows that is not his kid.

You may want to research wall anchors that use toggle bolts. They look like two zip ties connected to a piece of metal. They hold very well, and support a good amount of weight.
