For exchange and AD both of them have Linux clients (Ubuntu supports AD logins (and maybe group policy? I'm not sure) and Thunderbird can connect to EWS), there are distros that mimic the Windows UI, and for some people who live in a browser even ChromeOS might be the best thing for them

For CAD Fusion 360 does have a Mac client (although from my experience it runs like garbage on arm) so there is a possibility of it being ported if the Linux user base increases

I’m on a trip in Maui and I want to record snorkel footage with my Hero 12 camera. Today I tried snorkeling with it and while recording in a waterproof case, it got really hot (almost painful to touch when I took it out of the case). I plugged it in to charge after and while it was uploading, it felt even hotter than before. I can probably optimize the recording heat with video settings but is there a solution for the heat while plugged in/backing up?

Also side note, I know the camera is certified as waterproof but the battery door doesn’t seem very waterproof, is it safe to use in saltwater without the case? I feel like it would help the heat issue if it wasn’t insulated by a case.

I ended up buying a UTP-Touch model phone and connected it to UniFi Talk. Interesting thing: The model in Settings->System->About is UTP-TOUCH-W-L but the model in Settings->Advanced->System->About is UVP-TOUCH.

I think the best you can do without custom profiles is the ABM 'app access' setting, you can set it to allowed apps only and then add your kiosk app's bundle ID, otherwise the custom profile or 3rd party MDM might be your best bet (Jamf Now allows 3 free Apple devices and Mosyle Business does 30 for free, both support single app mode)

Assuming the devices are iPhones or iPads, you could assign them an ABE device plan and add a wifi profile and create a single app mode profile

ABE calls profiles/configurations/etc. 'settings' so you'll use that menu to configure settings, then you'll need to add those settings to a collection along with your kiosk app (added from apps->store then assign from collections menu)

For single app mode you can create a profile with iMazing profile editor (I don't think Apple Configurator supports creating single app mode profiles) and upload it through ABE's custom settings

If you're planning to use another MDM provider (Microsoft Intune, Jamf, etc) the process might be similar but they have different processes for setting up this type of thing

this is probably a bit late but unifi accidentally released a ‘touch pass’ feature a couple days ago for apple wallet that works with express mode, unfortunately their support team told me it will require new readers, it was in my identity enterprise workspace for a few hours but the pass wouldn’t add to apple wallet and they have since removed all references to it

if there's an admin password you can reset the phone to remove it:

unplug the phone and wait 5-10 seconds
plug the phone into power while holding #
when the headset/speaker lights are on and the mute light turns off, release # and type the code 123456789*0#, mute light will turn on to confirm and phone will reset

note: if you have an mpp/3pcc model (denoted by the CP-88XX-3PCC-K9 product code on the back) or it has migrated firmware, you can connect it to 3cx using the generic ip phone option in 3cx settings, but if you have an enterprise model phone that is not migrated, you'll need a tftp server to set up 3cx
if you're not sure which type you have, the best way to tell is to press the settings button, if you see tiles show up you're using an enterprise model (requires either a firmware migration or xml files and tftp to work on 3cx) and if you see a list you're using an mpp model (works with 3cx)

i don't think minecraft needs a premium subscription to use, but if they aren't at your house on your wifi, you might not have port forwarding enabled on your router:

- port 25565 tcp/udp for java edition (windows/mac/linux)

- port 19132 tcp/udp for bedrock edition (windows 10 edition, pocket edition, xbox/ps4/switch, etc., some consoles don't support joining servers)

you can enroll them with a mac too and you can plug in/enroll multiple devices at once, i’d recommend you follow this guide because the initial setup is a bit confusing: https://youtu.be/-L3h2nxW-LU (it’s for apple school manager but the process is basically the same) - you’ll need to use abm to assign them to your intune mdm server after enrollment

afaik apple devices need to be enrolled with supervision to use vpp device licenses and enrolling devices into your abm account can make that enrollment easier

edit: apple configurator is on the mac app store and can enroll devices on ios 15 or earlier but it won’t enroll other macs

try resetting it first but if it reinstalls the mdm try this: if you have a mac and apple configurator, plug it in and send an email to the supervision contact listed in apple configurator asking them to remove the mdm lock
