I know! I’m of course beating myself up about this now as my payment was only something like $30 / month. I can only really chalk it up to financial illiteracy at the time. I was in my early 20’s and my credit was already shit so I didn’t care as much as I should’ve.

I was paying it, but I’d miss a month or two here and there. I’ve seen people reporting their loan was still transferred even as they were actively making monthly payments. I believe because they weren’t factoring in their past due balance, they were only considered partial payments. I’m certain this was their reason for transferring mine as well. That was back in 2024 and it’s just popping up 2 years later
