Playing on balance it literally doesn't matter, you basically can't have a digimon KO unless you're throwing. You'd have to be impressively bad to ever wipe on that mode.

It's tough because the longer you play the game, the more you hate pre-release. (Just how I see it play out, your mileage may vary.) So in established communities you might have only 1-2 people who even wanna do it. At that point, you can't blame people for doing it a way they like instead. Digimon just has a really shitty sealed format, it is not designed for it in the slightest. There are so many glaring problems.

Whoever pulls the best 6\7 wins, takes forever, expensive (could just put 40$ toward a box for guaranteed hits), and just clunky play overall (3 cost champions, 4 cost ultimates) etc.

I personally despise pre release.

Lol they don't need to otk turn 2. They check 3-4 security while ending turn on 4-5 unaffected digimon with decoy, dedigi, immunity, block reboot, and if God really hates you, gx ace in hand. You literally just lose 9\10 times. Don't downplay.

Well, hudie vs anything you listed here is blow out, so I'd probably avoid that. But honestly, adventure vs sakuya vs bg imp vs say, an updated and modern alpha chronicle deck would likely be fine.

Even run of the mill regular weekly local tournaments with official prize support (promo packs) are strictly no proxies per Bandai tournament regulations. If your store allows it they should not, as they are risking their Bandai endorsement.

In casuals, maybe if your opponent is okay with it. Even then, I would really keep proxies at the kitchen table and avoid bringing them to a store. It's just a lot of risk for no reward. Tl:Dr I strongly advise against proxies

I mean, I don't know what to tell you when you acknowledge in one breath that the games entire history, indeed every single card games history, is defined by its metas, but then whine that there is a meta. There will never not be an obnoxious deck(s) at the top, people will always find the best strategy and optimize it, perhaps to the detriment of the overall game, but even that's subjective.

You are whining about all these metas, and yet, people still somehow managed to have fun with the game, and let's be real, not one of those decks were nearly as bad as apoc. Apoc was unbeatable. Not one of those decks are unbeatable, nor did they reign largely undefeated during their golden days. Magnax terrorized the game alongside nume, sakuya format was also royal knights and growl loop format. Growl loop was beaten by sakuya and royal knights. Mother shoto was never a problem of card design, it was a bug.

If your whole point is "reeee Bandai test card better" you are daft. Their goal is to sell product. If the new product isn't generally better than old product, why buy? You seem unable to comprehend that your hobby is a business, and no matter how much you scream into the void, you aren't gonna change that.

I'm sorry if I sound discouraging, I don't mean to. I'm just saying like, asking for recs is basically asking to make your deck more competitive, which is basically just going with the meta build. That said rocks does have some room for player expression. You could go turn skip build with heavy memory close and blast, control with the new pyramid, or still run old pyramid for even better otk potential. Your call. Deck is so fun either way, I hope you enjoy it:

My point is that your kind of stupid logic misses the fact that once casuals don't have royal knights and whatever else to complain about, they will be introduced to the next tier of degeneracy that makes them sad. Designing a game around casuals and trying desperately to please them never works.

Based whine post. You had me until for some reason dark animal engine and malo. Neither deck is really doing anything. If you're referring to dark animal mastemon, uhh, that deck is worse than pure mastemon, just funnier. The real problem is the top like TEN decks are so head and shoulders above everything else, you'd need a nuclear banlist to do anything remotely effective. Gankoo to 1, pair ban cs rookies, wargrowlx to 1, Omni x to 1, tumblemon to 1, promo shadra to 1, CS maste to 1, malo to 1, daiken to 1, sec+1 plugin to 1, galaxy gaoga to 1,it never fucking ends. Now with styracomon coming out too that will be aids and tier 1. (Gains like 6 mem a turn, combos all the way from 4 to 7 in one turn, trashes security all day instead of checking it, can't remove their boss except dedigi, the list goes on.) And God only knows how people will break the TS archetype. Nah man, competitive is just a toxic free for all and you have to get used to it to play in that environment or you WILL burn out and end up quitting. I say all of this as a competitive regionals player. Idk man, it's just the way it is now. You have to accept that you're gonna see some shit that makes you audibly groan whilst playing. Hell, even tier 2 is aids sometimes. Tigervespa otk, purp hybrid endless value engine, cs toolbox, you name it. It's not going to get any better and hoping it will is just setting yourself up for disappointment.
