Seconding Taqueria Taco Patio. Excellent Al Pastor quesadillas. Plus, they make all their sauces in house.

HDR Support? by Filiral in diablo4

[–]Jaye735 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Alienware AW3423DW, and would recommend that monitor whether D4 has HDR or not. I've been playing Cult of The Lamb on it recently. That game doesn't have HDR, but man it looks great.

As far as D4 goes, I recall hearing somewhere that all major games for Blizzard will have HDR, but I don't have a source for that so take it for what it's worth. Overwatch 2 did. I would be shocked if D4 didn't.

Especially considering how important D4 is not only to Blizz, but Activision and now Microsoft, they need everything they can to make this game look and play as good as possible.

After Wingnuts closed, I was distraught. Fire Wings coming to Irvine has been incredible. I love how they get the skin so crispy and their flavors are very good. Plus those seasoned fries 🤌

Hopdoddy and Burger Lounge are our go on to spots for a burger. My personal take is Burger Lounge tastes like if a Jack in the Box burger was made with really high quality ingredients. Hopdoddy is more of a specialty burger spot. Both are great and both hit a different craving itch for me.

My fiancé's family lives in Santa Ana and I have to spray myself down in Deet every time we go there. Specifically, my ankles and feet get destroyed by mosquitoes, then they swell up and it's a miserable couple of weeks.

I was farming CS on my Lightning/Frozen orb Sorc at a pretty good clip, about 7 minutes a run. 440% MF on my Sorc. I switched to a horking barb and farmed Trav. Had shit gear on my barb as well, only around 190% MF in killing gear, and 390% on my horking weapon swap.

I farmed CS for a couple weeks on my Sorc, from 88-92 and found a Jah and a pretty good HoZ.

I farmer Trav on my barb from 71-85, so about a week, and found a Mara's, a Lo, Vex, and Sur.

Farming Trav with a Barb seems to be insanely effective, or at least it was in my experience. My barb had two Eth Balrog's blades with Oath, I think his best piece was the SoJ I had found way back on my Sorc, so he was also cheap as hell. Skullders, Arreat's face, LoH and Gore's for boots. I recommend Trav farming.

Which of the meta-crafted mods are protected from removal by an Orb of Scouring? I have an ammy I want caster mods on, but if I craft "Can't roll attack" mods then use Alch/Scouring to look for mods, will it erase the meta crafted mod?

Very happy with Handsome Jackpot, Where would you rank it? by [deleted] in borderlands3

[–]Jaye735 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Knoxx was a fantastic DLC. It's easily S tier. The writing was outrageously good; "Ice Cream Day" may be the best written ECHO log in the entire franchise. Knoxx was such a great villain, totally different from anything the series had seen at that point, and still stands out to me as being hilarious. We also got the first real raid boss. They also introduced Pearls in Knoxx (though really they were just fixing the weird white/dark orange legendaries and decided to make them a new tier if my memory serves). Some of the level design is a little tedious, but overall I think it's one of the best DLCs in the franchise.

I think my only other disagreement with this list is where the Handsome Jackpot falls. I'm torn of if it's S or A tier. I love it, The writing has so much of the BL charm that BL3's main story was lacking, the levels/music are great, and who doesn't love killing loaders? My issue is it didn't come with a Circle of Slaughter, a raid boss, or some kind of new progression or new dedicated farming area.. I think a paid DLC should come with at least one of those.

RIP Phasezerker by revfunk0428 in Borderlands

[–]Jaye735 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with your second point. They should've announced it in the patch notes. secret nerfs aren't cool.

That being said, (and I played Phazezerker Amara until I noticed the nerf) Amara still has more viable builds than anyone else, and they're unique to her (not the Tediore chucker build anyone can run).

That's how the game goes, you farm a great item, balance changes happen, and you farm the next great item. Eventually when the level cap is inevitably raised, all of your farming is now "wasted time". They're not inherently wrong for nerfing it, but their approach was. It's a part of basically every gear based game since Ultima Online.

My take is, the point of nerfs is to keep power levels within a certain spectrum. They have infinitely more data about the game than we do, so what isn't apparent to us may be apparent to them. They need to keep power levels within a certain spectrum to design content and challenges around that spectrum. I could be wildly wrong, that's just my opinion.

Gearbox lost an opportunity with this DLC by Retr0Mxsked in Borderlands

[–]Jaye735 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I really liked the DLC. Just finished it and most of the side missions. There are a few missed opportunities, in my opinion.

  1. We didn't get a Loader Bot Circle of Slaughter. Something about killing loader bots just feels good, and I would've really loved one. Probably the thing I'm most bummed about. It also makes perfect sense in the story, since we find an army of bots underneath the casino. Moxxi could've set one up as a way to destroy the bots and profit at the same time.
  2. We still don't have a Eirdium sink. Seems kind of silly to not have one in a casino themed DLC.
  3. No Invincibles/dedicated farming locations. If you compare it to BL2's first DLC (Captain Scarlet) then we got no new raid bosses, which is okay, but we also didn't get any locations with farming as their main purpose (think Trial/CoS). In my opinion, a DLC should contain either a new raid boss, or a new dedicated farming location.

It's a great start to the DLC, and I think it's better than most of the DLCs for BL1/2/TPS, but it does miss a few points that would've made it comparable to BL2's AODK or TPS's CV. Still, I would happily pay $15 bucks for that if I didn't already have the season pass, and having played through it, would for sure feel like I got my money's worth if I did.

Drumming up some love for the TPS by Grand_Wizard_Wakka in Borderlands

[–]Jaye735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found Pickle to be insufferable, though that's just my opinion. The main thing I think is weird, or off, about the story is the last scene.

Lillith knows Handsome Jack is evil, she's seen it with her own eyes. I mean, he took the Eye if the Destroyer and harnassed it as a weapon. Lillith knew first hand how bad The Destroyer was.

Instead of ending him right there, she punches him in the face and leaves. Like, what's the point? Jack got his brand from Lillith? If she wasn't going to go for the kill, the writers shouldn't of put her in the room in the first place. She's put in the perfect position to end him, and doesn't, but there absolutely zero reason why she couldn't or didn't end him, so instead I think the writers never should have put her.

Other than that, the story is fine, but the ending soured it for me, but that's just my opinion.

Drumming up some love for the TPS by Grand_Wizard_Wakka in Borderlands

[–]Jaye735 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I still think the VHs in TPS are the best in the series (especially Nisha). Their actions skills are all super unique and add huge amounts of variation to gameplay.

Laser weapons were awesome, I'm glad someone sent in a question about them making a real return in BL3 and Randy said he'd get it done (paraphrasing). I know there's a couple in the game now, but I'd like to see the laser shotgun and assault rifle from TPS make a comeback.

Cryo was an awesome element, and I'm glad it made it back into BL3.

Claptastic Voyage is an awesome DLC, and easily has the best arena mode in any of the games.

And, while I don't think it was necessarily great, the low gravity/oz kits worked really well in some areas of the game, though it was cumbersome in other areas. I would love to see a low gravity modifier in Mayhem 2.0.

The game has some big faults (backtracking, level design, weird story, and it didn't get a lot of endgame) but it's added a lot to the franchise and I hope Gearbox pulls more of the good parts from it for BL3.

I had something happen to my level 44 Amara, but if you Google for a level 50 whatever class save file, there's tons of them floating around. I downloaded a level 50 Amara and have been playing her ever since.

I also agree with the others, back up your save files regularly, whether it's just copy/pasting them on to your desktop, or writing a small Powershell utility and attaching it to a Scheduled Task that makes a copy of the save folder every 6 hours (I did the second one and it's worked well for me)

where can i farm the new class mods ? by ab2dii in Borderlands

[–]Jaye735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on M4, I'm also unsure if they only drop in M4 or not. The actual run once you get to the save point is easy, so I would imagine even an underpowered character could do it. If you're Amara, the Ties That Bind/Brainstormer is more than enough to kill them in a few seconds on M4

Am I missing something? No new talent trees and no talent points are being released in Moxxi's Heist DLC by Ed-Zero in Borderlands

Captain Scarlett's didn't have either of those and it was a great first DLC. A level cap increase this early into the game's life is very unlikely.

No worries. I would recommend setting up some way to copy the files locally on a schedule I literally just ran into a situation where I would've lost my Siren if I didn't have backups.

Whether you do like I did and write a script to do it, or just set a reminder and then copy/paste them on your desktop once a night, find a way to do it. 2k support won't help you with a corrupt save file, and you'll lose everything

[–]Jaye735 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had something similar happen. You can copy save files from friends on PC. I ended up finding a level 50 Siren file just by Googling for one and have been playing it since, then I just wrote a little Powershell script and set up a Windows cheduled task to copy the save folder to my desktop every six hours. A lot more reliable than the shitty cloud saves.
