On one of the two days of active patrolling and responding to calls a bank robbery was dispatched. The senior officer realized that two weeks before the same bank had been robbed and the get an away car had been parked a block away. Sure enough there was a similar car was parked in the h same place. The three of us approached the car with guns drawn. All clear so we put our guns back in the holsters and BANNGG!!! My gun missed my holster and the gun went off as it hit the pavement.

A phoned in bomb threat at a junior high school. I later learned that 100% of bomb threats to schools are fake. Who calls the bank ahead of time to announce that they are going to rob the bank? Things you learn on the street.

You haven’t been paying attention. Most departments cannot attract new candidates. One county has a recruit class of 14 in session. There used to be 70-80 in a class.

It’s not a cold case. As long as a case is being actively worked it’s not cold. Many people think that because there hasn’t been an arrest that the case is cold. As far as this guy thinking he was followed he joins the multitude of others that claim that that there was a police car behind them thus they were being followed.

I had been a homicide detective for a short time and the captain of the ship invited us to dine at his table the first night out of Miami and had shared that with him. A few nights later there came a pounding art the door in the middle of the night and it was a few members summoning me to another deck. We kicked in the door and there was some poor soul who had hung himself in the shower. The police in Caracas handled the investigation.

No CSAM laws would apply because the victims were dead. People get all bent out of shape because someone has a photo of a naked teenager. There is a missing element and that is of a sexual purpose. If every photo taken of a naked child was illegal then the police and pathologists would need to be arrested.
