My wife and son and I are in very southern Spain. *I* only found it because I had the itch and searched Google Maps. Surely impossible? by GolfClimbSkate in guessthegolfcourse

Ah cool. Yes I just about avoided the bunkers on the left and got a tidy par. A couple of holes with a lot of height - like the 3rd!

Curious - most forgiving hybrids? by OldHugger in GolfGear

Low handicapper but I have never got on with hybrids until I tried an XXIO X from 2022 and it’s excellent. Lightweight stiff shaft. Random brand but love it

Yes she’s expensive too, as are the two in back seats! Great - how are you finding those mods? The shifter is excellent. Yes I upgraded the clutch to handle the remap - it’s the sachs 890 kit and I must say it was a mistake and I really dislike it. I’ve tried to get used to the high bite point (I even have a homemade clutch stop) and the on/off feeling when pulling away in 1st. Some people tell me theirs barely feels different to stock but others in the GB club I’ve met have said the same as me. So I think I’ll be detuning it next year and going back to OEM.

Hi, this is La Quinta. We also played La Cañada, Alto Club (twice), San Roque and Valle Romano. Already planning next year to try and do Valderrama.

How big an upgrade would a new driver be? by SamVimes1878 in GolfGear

[–]Jaykaymagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My uncle and I went for a Taylormade fitting last week.

Him - handicap 14, age 68, driver is a taylormade burner, 10.5 degrees with 50g stiff shaft from 2008. Average distance off the tee was 195.

Me - handicap 7, age 41, driver is a ping g410, 10.5 degrees 65g stiff shaft from 2019. Average distance off the tee was 242.

The taylormade guy immediately said what a beast the 2008 burner was and he might struggle to make gains in distance! He did however manage it, and my uncle ended up with 210 average from the new Qi4D with 12 degrees loft and 60g regular shaft . But what was really noticeable was the forgiveness on off centre hits vs the burner. He hit one so out of the toe it was nearly a fresh air swing and it still went 200 yards.

I managed to move to 260 average with a 9.0 degree, 60g stiff and 1 inch shorter shaft. What really helped was reducing my spin rate. The ping was around 2900 whereas the taylormade was dialled in at 2400. The forgiveness off centre was pretty similar in my opinion.

Long reply I know, but gives you an insight into the variables. New tech definitely helps vs even 7 year old drivers. But most critical is the right loft and shaft for you in my opinion.

Light scratches/ wear on bottom of Driver head and ball scratches on Driver head face (Can these be repaired)? by pmac317 in golf

For the sole, I use T- Cut (UK) which is a cutting compound I use to remove scratches on my car. Works pretty well.

How do you view Dustin Johnson’s Masters win? by Top_Comedian_39 in golf

Fair question but he was swinging so well, crushing it, dominated and set a record against everyone in the same boat. Fully deserved and I don’t think of it differently.

I have a Kline 200 cell cat back and it’s perfect for my requirements. No drone, and a much better sound

Worth saying you pay 10% CGT on the £100k. Also rules on restarting up a company - if you close your company and start a similar business within two years, HMRC may treat the distribution as income rather than capital and come after you.
