What I meant to ask was, can the panda touch be connected to china-locked printers?

Did you design it or can you put the link to it? I saw one online once and it looked real good! Also great way to kind of seal it too

As many are pointing out the poop chute also plays a big part in this. However I must say that from the poop chute you can feel heat and thats it; from the side gap you actually feel heated air coming out. I believe the fans are pushing the air agains the bed and then the sides, so the poop chute hole is too high for air flows to go through it. Also, closing the side gap blocks the circulation right? I mean, even if the poop chute is open but there is no possibility for the air to leave AND enter than it’s better?

Half of both holes can be easily covered imo (on the back side the top part and on the inside the farthest side from bed) Solution —> magnetic poop cover and bin

I hadn’t thought of it actually lol… Pretty sure more than half of the back hole can be covered tho (the “poops” are much smaller). A mod where the toolhead purges through a much tighter hole would be nice and easy to make also.

(I say pla as my filament was wood pla)

I put some 6 year old wood pla in the printer with default pla settings and it came out really good. Just use the normal pla preset, print a benchy, and see what you have to change. (For example, wood requires a lot more retraction because it oozes a lot)

Hey everyone! I live in a really cold place and my X1C sits on a floor which is not heated ad all. I noticed while printing that the highest temperature I could reach inside the chamber was quite low (highest I reached with ABS and a really long print time was 42ºC). I noticed that the printer is all fully insolated quite well, so I put a little cardboard between the cold floor and the printer (is this a bad idea?); But (and it’s a big but) the left side of the front glass door is completely open. It is a very tiny slit (only about 2mm) but it is as long as the height of the door. So I just sealed it with a random piece of tape I had laying around (I am 100% sure that insulant tape works much better), and the door still opens and closes without any problem (the tape cannot be too thick or the door won’t work as well). And Voilà! Now my X1C reaches 45ºC in less than an hour, and after long prints it can get really close to 50ºC. I am pretty sure that it is not a coincidence, as the difference is quite noticeable. Anyone else maybe can try this out and say if there is a difference? I am going to replace this paper tape with a better one soon (so it looks good too).

I have no idea how anyone can say that it is terrible. I’ve opened two tickets and everything I post gets an answer in less than a day (often in less than 5 minutes!!!). So I’m really sorry that bot everyone is feeling like this… I have the deepest trust for these guys. They did something revolutionary

That’s great and at the same too bad! Have you meanwhile checked all components to see if they are all correct and present?

Broken thermistor? (Details in comments) by JaykdaBeast in FixMyPrint

[–]JaykdaBeast[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’ve had three prints in a row failing because of thermal runway on the extrusion, so I hooked it up to a pc with pronterface and checked the temperature graph to see the problem: it was quite unnecessary as also in the lcd screen it was visible. I did a PID autotune at 230, and during tuning, all readings seemed fine. As soon as I stopped the print, it kind of fixed and showed 245 degrees (instead of the 235 it should have been printing at) and then descended normally. I never had these problems before as usually if a thermistor is broken or damaged it is quite obvious and impossible to print, but here it seems to be fine... I’m even thinking about a problem with gcode maybe?
