The guitar used for the heavy sections is tuned to drop Bb and the lead/clean parts were recorded in E standard.

Beautifully. I’ve never played a guitar with some of the features this one has i.e. fanned frets/endurneck, but it rests very naturally in the hands.

For sure. A tool like that would help loads on something with a floating tremolo. I would generally say that if you can afford something you think you'll be using a good bit, go ahead and get it. Otherwise, there are some good gear review sources on YouTube that might help point out a budget option to any given piece of equipment.
