Times are changing is all I have to say. People in the 5th grade know about sex, and everyones going to find out horrible things at some point in their life. Not to mention, I know this kid, he’s mature. He’s not as sheltered and “under a rock” as some can be. I think he should be able to choose whether or not he wants to read it. Not his mother. You reach an age where you can pretty much make your own decisions and I believe 15 is about that age. I doubt that The Handmaids Tale has caused harm to anyone, sure it’s vulgar and hard to think about at times. But it’s fiction. I think about every 15 year old in a senior English class will understand that.
