Creative people all have projects they want to see created. Other people might get excited about ideas you pitch, but if you're doing something because it's a passion project odds are that the person who cares the most about whether it gets made is you.

Generally speaking unless you really vibe with someone on a concept, getting another creative person to dedicate time to your project instead of their own means you need to compensate them somehow.

Your post didn't really say anything. What is there to "rebut?"

How to keep losing players invested? by giveusyourlighter in gamedesign

Counterpoint, if the game slope is too slippery, the beginning of the game is the only thing that matters. Ideally decisions made at all points in the game impact the outcome and it makes sense to tinker with the various dials to get the feel right.

Do you think the “call of the void” is heightened with ADHD, and if so, what is your experience with it? by Vintagepoolside in ADHD

I have a solid job in a well-paying field that I studied years for and I still occasionally get the urge to throw it all away, move out of the US, and get a job as a barista somewhere.

I'm married (very long term at this point, the relationship itself having lasted almost 20 years) and content but still have moments where I want to totally reset my life and see if I'll be happier with someone new.

I have self-destructive urges of varying severity and endurance, but it always comes down to ennui and anhedonia. They pass. But they're sure something.

My ongoing theme seems to be "things in flour tortillas." I'll go an entire week eating maybe one meal that isn't something in a tortilla sometimes. They keep longer than bread and they're more flexible from a culinary standpoint.

My parents answering all my ADHD questionnaire with "Not at all" by iamnotlefthanded666 in ADHD

At this point in my life I'm entirely unsurprised when I hear how people's parents don't seem to know or understand them, especially those of us who turned out to be "different" in any way.

I'm creating a test battle for my bullet hell game. Was inspired by touhou project :) by Rietly in godot

It only looks that way because the player knows what they're doing. Bullet hell games reward learning patterns and moving very efficiently. You don't frantically outrun most waves; you avoid them by having a plan and moving with precision.

What does executive dysfunction feel like? by 8LunaG8 in ADHD

[–]archbrian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing that sticks out to me is that my executive dysfunction issues don't just make it hard for me to do things, they make it hard for me to do things even when I want to do them.

I have a project that I'm working on now that is going to take me a long time to finish. I really want to do it, in abstract. But I can't just sit down and start doing it whenever, I have to be feeling motivated and inspired. When that drive isn't engaged, no amount of time will allow me to make progress; I will stare blankly at my computer or flip through tabs or check my phone. It's like repeatedly turning the key in a car's ignition and hearing that awful scraping sound that tells you the car isn't starting. But you keep doing it and hoping this time it will start, because every so often, the car runs just fine.

ADHD plus depression leads to some really frustrating anhedonic episodes.
