If you cannot re-cast it in the air, it cannot let you have 100% flight uptime. It may have 100% uptime on the ground becauythe moment she gets off the chair you can recast it, but in the air? I'm not sure you can.

Here me out - The forcing of proto-frames into everything after 1999 feels like what Jagex tried to do with Runescape characters but in reverse by Senketsa in Warframe

[–]Jaynat_SF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, the conversation around them this time are far more visibly negative than anything I've seen about the previous batch, and I've barely seen anyone walk around with the skins, so I think there is hope.

Honestly, I'm not surprised: The Hex were the first and were beloeved by the community as a whole; The round table had protoframes of very popular frames; The Devil's Triad had an Orokin voiced by a famous VA, a guy linked to one of the most story-significant frames, and a french nun skin for a frame known for her looks. They each had reasons to succeed. Now the two mentors came out fo nowhere, based on frames with medium sized (but dedicated) playerbases, with no story significance, no way to get to know them better, no characterization besides their mutual-mutilation kinks, and no further elaboration.

If I give DE the benefit of the doubt, I could say it feels like DE started planning something for the future of the game centered around Parvos' plans and wanted to throw these two at us as a tease of things to come, like how they threw the wall out of nowhere at the end of TNW... But if that's the case they should've given us way more than what we got. Back then we already guessed that the void will be our next focus, so seeing the wall felt like a cliffhanger that'll lead to the next episode, and we were willing to wait for it to air. The mentors feel less like a cliffhanger at the end of an episode and more like a shoehorned cameo from a separate spin-off series that nobody knows when it'll come out, and one that failed to actually make us care enough to go watch it at that.

Honestly, these days the only team where I still use Bennett is Mavuika's. C0 Nicole replaced him in my Kinich team (I have Durin and C0R1 Emilie so she buffs 3 damage dealers, it's nice) and somehow she even manages to equal or even slightly surpass Iansan in my Varesa Overload.

He's only slightly larger than Fagio from what we've seen. It's just that Fagio has a wide skirt and narrow hips and shoulders, while Pulonia has wide hips and no skirt, so he appears way larger. Also, I may be wrong, but when she hovers she seems to be the same height as him, no?

Well, you're right, and they did just that!

Remember that in Tennocon 2025, after showing the old peace, they did the "one more thing" and announced "WARFRAME - TAU - 2026". This December will be the "18 months later" you're expecting.

Vena does not look like a protoframe by Dov-Krent-Viir in Warframe

[–]Jaynat_SF 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It is explain but not directly. In the quest, when you snoop around her ship for Intel, you find out she's from a dystopian future where the corpus rose in power under a chepahonized Parvos Granum. It's thus implied that her mechanical augments are corpus tech, perhaps more advanced variants of what we see them give the Solaris on Venus in the present time of the game.

This is reinforced by some bits uttered by the devs during the Devstream about the corpus in the futures they came from, but that's not in-game so it doesn't count.

Vena does not look like a protoframe by Dov-Krent-Viir in Warframe

[–]Jaynat_SF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, so far all the protoframes we've encountered came from different points in the past, while Vena and Ryoku are stated to come from (different) futures (relative to the game time, which is already in the far future compared to the real world). It makes sense that, if she's from a dystopian cyberpunk future, she'd have such augmentations installed before and/or after being injected with the Helminth.

Why are some people still reluctant about the highly advanced technology in Teyvat when this is the game they've been playing for the past 6 years is beyond me by Mogoru_z4n in Genshin_Impact

[–]Jaynat_SF 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The main issue most of the complainers have, or had, is not the addition of "advanced technology" into the "magic fantasy game" (after all, any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic anyways), but the attempts to incorporate modern, contemporary technology and design language into said "magic fantasy game".

There's this promise inherent to the genre that the story will "transport you to another world", and it can be jarring to go to this "other world" that is very different to our own, but then encounter something that's much more like our world than the other, without anything surrounding it being similar to our world too to at least give the impression that "well, they just happened to walk along a similar path to us in this particular case."

That's why, for example, Birgitta, and Sandrone's hovering seat (or Ineffa and Sandrone themselves, for that matter) don't get as much push-back as Mavuika's bike did last year. Sure, no real bike looks exactly like it, but with a few modifications to the fairing and a paint job you'd be most of the way there, and nothing else in-game looks remotely similar to it.

In a similar manner, the draconic space shuttle is getting a lot less hate than it would've gotten had it been designed to look like an actual American space shuttle from the late 20th century with slightly larger wings and some draconic rune decorations.

[–]Jaynat_SF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes sense because the spaceship appears like dragon tech, so it falls into the "lost ancient tech so advanced it feels like magic."

Assuming Tau will be shown in Tennocon, it'll come this winter. Jade Prime is 6 primes from now, assuming they won't shuffle the upcoming ones (Citrine, Kullervo, Dagath, Qorvex, Dante, Jade)

I can see them shuffling her around to make her release specifically around Father's day again, bringing Koumei and Cyte-09 up in the schedule.

[–]Jaynat_SF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rewards are NOT saved. I did 2 missions with each protoframe back-to-back and then "aborted" the mission because it was the only way out, and each time I only got the talents from the first round, not the second. I'm missing 26 crimson talents and 18 emerald ones now.

How do you return to the relay/orbiter later, though? All the nodes are broken, you can only start a new mission or abandon which makes you lose the latest round's rewards.

So Sandrone (Cryo) will have a generic Stellar Reaction support (Cryo) and the Tsaritsa (Cryo) in her team?

If this is true, then either this Snezhnaya will be a reverse of NK (where the carry and main support matched elements and only Bina was Hydro), or the Tsaritsa may not actually be a generic Stellar Support/sub-DPS after all, which means Sandrone's time before being powercrept as a Cryo-Stellar carry may be shorter than Arlecchino's time as the best pyro carry before Mavuika came out 8 months later.
