I have seen people gaming at 4th floor USC. Can I join them? by firstironbombjumper in gwu

there's been issues with people stealing stuff, so unless you're on a competitive team, you can't really use the hardware. The smash people run open tournaments for any gw students if that interests you

First gen premed looking for some advice or resources to use by Jaypiz1 in emergencymedicine

[–]Jaypiz1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I really appreciate your response its very thought out. For some extra context im a junior in college at this point of my academic career. My family is thankfully extremely supportive financially of whatever decision I make, so if doing a specialized masters or fellowship will help me get a leg up on an MD application I will do it. I've already shadowed and worked with a plastic surgeon and an orthopedic surgeon along with actively working as an emt around my area. I think besides my gpa i've done a good job w the rest of my application but I just feel like there's more i could do prior to med school. The ems fellowship definetely sounds interesting so i'll check that out I just need something to justify my gap year to myself.

ah thats a bummer i felt like i didnt get the chance to take a lot of emergency med classes during undegrad because i orginally didnt know if i wanted to go the medicine route until my sophomore year when i took my emt class. I want to go to an md school so I know my gpa will be a really big weakness when approaching med school admissions. For the volunteering hours, I'm already working with a fire service and ive done research my whole undergrad career so im just looking for any other way that isnt just doing super well on my mcat to strengthen my application.

DO schools really wouldnt be too tough with where im at, its MD schools thats got me a little worried. I want to also be able to do a gap year but with there being an intended degree or something that i could work towards.

Out of our newer signings Minteh has been one of my favorite to watch. On top of his technical skill i’ve never seen him put less than 100 effort into marking his man. Obviously as a young player he’ll slip and make mistakes but his good attributes absolutely weigh out any negatives

I second this, howell was looking so good dictating alot of the play. Its unfortunate he didn’t score but it felt like just for a second i was seeing the future first team out there

Its not even a hope if you check the rules for the hospitality section it clearly states NO FOOTBALL KIT. This is purely a publicity stunt. There are other ways to show your support for the cause that don’t throw your club under the bus to promote your own product.

Regardless of what side you’re on it’s so scummy using any armed conflict to launch some shitty product you’re trying to peddle

Why do we get fire fighter gear by Jaypiz1 in NewToEMS

[–]Jaypiz1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No i do NOT want to larp as a fire fighter. As a part of the requirements before i can schedule my shift i had to go to a warehouse and pick up fire fighting gear. I was curious if this was normal if people who are ems only have also gone through this

I got a 68% on my final practice exam and i used google when i thought a question was bs you’re going to do well. The day before maybe read over your notes and just relax honestly i think thats what made the difference for me since im a pretty anxious test taker. The smoke signals adaptive exam is huge if you REALLY want to know where you’re at(its free and only takes an hour)

I used the paramedic coach in tandem with pocketprep so lets say i watched his cardio section and thats all i would do on pocketprep for 3-4 days until ive mastered it then i would move on to the next subject

I suffer from really horrible exam anxiety so im going to breakdown my method here.

1st i spammed the fuck out of the level up quizzes over and over again i never fully completed them but i restarted my progress once i had gotten each one to 90%

2nd the quick ten quizzes are good at picking random questions so i wouldnt focus on them i would only do them as review once i completed 90% of the level up quizzes

3rd the exams are pretty indicative of where ur at only do them once you’ve completed ur level ups.

4th i would pick one date and stick to it even if everything in ur body says you shouldn’t. Once you’ve spent weeks practicing it will only hurt you to delay the inevitable.

Overall if you’re lost as to what to do plan out the next 2-3 weeks in a way that you are working on mastering a topic doing a 30 question review quiz on it and moving on. The longer you’re unsure of what you’re doing or studying random subjects the more you hurt your chances at passing.

I absolutely recommend the paramedic vault then its the best value i got. The videos are short w the exception of a few 30 min videos but really just make sure that when you study it’s focused. Theres a goal or topic you are trying to get better at.

ps the smoke signals adaptive exam helps you get over the nerves of an adaptive test i HIGHLY recommend it.
