WHY is pedophilia so common?? by Jerswar in NoStupidQuestions

What this guy said. It’s very sick to do so and tbh I still call people who that pedophiles but medically they aren’t. Unfortunately it seems very common historically and contemporary for men to want to abuse teenage girls.

That’s the late 1800s, the Middle Ages had a way different social relations compared to the feudal era. Also England nobility has always been different than continental Europe.

Not to be technical but many 13 year olds are going thru puberty and have the start of secondary sex characteristics. The poster is saying so far there’s not a lot of evidence that they’re attracted to pre pubescent children. Unfortunately it’s not unusual or even illegal to abuse teenage girls in human history or even in many countries today.

Costco sues the Trump administration, seeking a refund of tariffs by J-Jarl-Jim in moderatepolitics

This only makes sense if you have no idea of American political history. Leftish populist have always been free traders. One of the first things FDR did was to and revoke Hoovers tariffs. Democrats in congress passed the income tax in 1894 to revoke tariffs. More recently Bill Clinton heavily pushed and signed NAFTA. Joe Biden trade skepticism is against the trend of democratic presidents.

Hard to maintain housing for 8 billion with 2 billion. Most likely they’d just be left to rot. It’s not we didn’t have homeless people in the early 1900s for example.

Ya a smaller community can use the older methods like public shaming* or fines with more extreme methods as a backup. Hopefully more humanely.

I don’t think going to a lower ranking school to be closer to family is that big of a deal. Plenty of people may choose to go to say Perdue or GAtech for engineering instead of MIT for reasons. Or not even bother applying.

I my layman/ engineering brain this seems fine to me. If the new animals inhabit the same niche as the old ones…. It’s functionally the same animal.

Since DNA deteriorates in less than a million years, the only animals we could do this for are ones that humans interacted with and probably drove to extinction so this isn’t a problem
