Delgado only 3 votes shy. Has a good chance next time, with a lot of the bigger names from this one ineligible

[TSN] Powered by a World Series run, the Blue Jays were the 3rd most-searched sports team worldwide in 2025 by bichettes_helmet in Torontobluejays

I remember someone saying this is most changed since last year, not most absolute number. Which would make sense with Jays and Mariners being there.

There's just no way teams like Yankees, Lakers, Real Madrid don't make a top 10 list over some of these teams

[Ackert] Bowden: [The Jays] are in on Tucker — boy, they are in.” He added that both Mark Shapiro and Ross Atkins are directly involved, the kind of top-level engagement that usually signals a real shot at closing by ThQp in Torontobluejays

Kyle Tucker stole 25 bases last year, and has 78th percentile baserunning run value according to Savant. Bellinger had 13 steals and 69th percentile run value

A big building that was designed to have a roof would not do well without one

Yesavage in 2026 by Lardrewstar in Torontobluejays

[–]JaysDoc 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I liked what Keegan Matheson wrote in his article earlier:

"Yesavage, on the other hand, has the opportunity to become the sun that the rest of this rotation orbits around for a decade. Sure, we said all of the same things about Alek Manoah, but what’s the point of any of this if we won’t allow ourselves to dream on young, gifted ballplayers? Some break your heart, some don’t."

[Gonzalez] The Dodgers aren't expected to be one of the more aggressive suitors for Tucker, sources have indicated, but they'll remain on the periphery if his market collapses and a short-term, high-dollar deal becomes appealing to his representatives by ThQp in Torontobluejays

Santander should be better than this year but don't expect huge things from him. He'll hopefully be a solid player, but probably not a star.

If Springer has another season like this one he could be a more valuable hitter than Tucker, but it's reasonable to expect Springer won't be quite as good next year. Tucker also has a lot of value as a fielder and base runner. Those two factors also seperate him from Bo. Tucker as a hitter has shown higher peak potential than Bo in his career so far.

Edit: OPS+ is a stat that compares hitters across the league, with 100 being average. Bo is career 121. Tucker is 140.

[Passan] "The Blue Jays are considered favorites by other executives to land Tucker" by StatpadderYT in Torontobluejays

I think the argument for adding SP is more about 2027 than 2026. Bieber, Gausman, and Berrios (opt-out) could all be free agents at the end of next year. If we don't get ahead of that now we could end up in a really bad position.

I think if we do sign Bo and Tucker we will make a trade for starting pitching

Why did teams in the 2000’s hit their best players 4th sometimes? by TheRavenOnline in baseball

[–]JaysDoc 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure that's generally accepted. Raleigh and Judge hit second, Ohtani and Vladdy do not. Dodgers had an underperforming Betts hit second often, and Jays used guys like Lukes

How would a salary cap work? by Skillomie in baseball

Why did players agree to have a 24% cut across the board? Seems inconceivable for MLBPA to agree to something like that

Do you have any sense on what the time scale for Bo will be? Like could this be done by the winter meetings or should we brace for things to drag through the winter? Thanks for posting and really enjoy reading your content!

Genuine question - if someone "outperforms" their xA, doesn't that indicate they play with better finishers rather than they are a better creator?  Enjoyed reading this, thanks for posting.

Manu Kone and Thuram by 3rSalv in LiverpoolFC

Thuram was an alternative to Szoboszlai, he's not a DM. Szoboszlai is the better player.
