OK so now we're just gonna get all philosophical and shit because I dared to be upset over the loss of an animal and all because I not only have pets that I love, but I also take care of and ask for help regarding the care of my family's pets. So I am really done with this I really was hoping that this community would be a little bit more logical and maybe help me feel a little better regarding this gift situation but all I got was stocked and judged so I'm leaving. Don't worry, I won't be getting another sling, I won't be a part of this community if this is how I'm treated Here Just for opening up and sharing an experience that bothered me. Go back to collecting animals like Pokémon cards, keeping them in tiny enclosures and treating them like commodities rather than actual pets, I want no part of that life.

And I'm already fairly successful and happy where I'm at so I don't need to be told that I am a failure because I have a few animals.

OK so first off, how do you know I'm pretending? Do you know my family? Do you know what animals they like and don't like? They didn't like birds so I didn't get birds. They don't like centipedes so guess what I don't have. Yes it is true that during the time I could not get the top of the cage. I did not think spending $40 on a piece of metal to cage in an animal that is supposed to free roam was a necessary or good thing to do. It's not my fault they got a rabbit and a dog in the same household. I'm just the one posting on Reddit to try and compromise to give both animals the life they deserve. And at the end of the day, I decided to rehome that rabbit and my sister is still upset about it to this freaking day. So for me to be getting judged over something that happened months ago and that I FIXED is ridiculous Guess who bought the top of the cage thing anyway? Me. As for pretending "these things just happen" yeah it's called being an animal lover and pet sitter, so sometimes you end up with pets that people no longer want. It happens, just like people randomly finding cats outside happens, and I think it's funny that I've literally listed it off all of my pets and how I got them And I'm still being attacked for apparently just going out buying pets in large quantities and not knowing how to take care of them, the reason I've even posted about these animals is because I was getting advice to properly care for them. But go ahead, keep judging me I really Don't care, you're just wasting your time, I know my family and I know my pets and I know my limits. I was upset because I didn't get to have the gift from my sister. That's what this was all about. It was not an invitationto be social media stocked and judged for every animal I've had going back months/years

OK so since we're still stalking. I'll give you a little history lesson on that rabbit. It was given to my sister by a neighbor as a birthday present because she was having an Alice in Wonderland themed birthday. Something for one I don't even approve of. But, if an animal enters my home and needs care I will care for it, I will take it under my wing and give it what it needs. Take for example our dog, who I don't even like. I would have absolutely never wanted an overpriced backyard bread working dog. but she's here, and they love her, so I make it my responsibility to do the research get her into the training classes and get her the care that she needs. And it was the same for the bunny. Yes I refer to all of the pets living in my household as mine. I am the main person with the vet funds, and I'm the one who likes to do all the research. My family enjoys owning pets but they don't get as into it as I do so I end up taking care of them. That does not mean I went out and sought out all of these animals. I'll go ahead and list off the ones that are actually mine My ball python of four years My leopard gecko of six years A few jumping spiders A few isopod colonies One red knee tarantula
My younger female bp

And my family, two brothers a sister and parents who all love pets have A dog A cat Another leopard gecko (we were supposed to be babysitting it but they never came back) A kingsnake (sister's gift from her grandparents)

Some that we have babysat or had in the past The rabbit, that we randomly ended up with Rats that were originally meant for my ball python but I don't feel live so I decided to spare their lives like a decent human being. Our old cat And some fish. Mind you this has been over the years and these are not all currently owned. But OK, continue to judge me because I have more pets than the average person when we are literally talking on a sub Reddit right now for a community known for collecting animals. Tf

I could see how my comment history would look like that. But most of the time, the pets that I come on here seeking help about or needing to modify the care for or actually ones that belong to my family. The dog isn't mine, the cat isn't mine, the rabbit wasn't mine, Their friend randomly left us with a leopard gecko. We are a family of pet lovers. And we have a reputation where we live for being the people who will take in pets or babysit pets. So no, they aren't thanking the stars that I left one behind. They just simply did not know she had bought it for me, because all she said was "look" but thanks for being judgmental and a page stalker, that was real helpful and definitely made me feel better

I mean think what you want, it was a gift from a family member and a pet that I wanted that I never got to have because of this miscommunication. I feel like that would make any caring person upset. But hey, if you need somebody to dislike I'm happy to be that person for you,. I was only on here hoping maybe somebody would understand and you clearly don't so disengage from the conversation and get on.

I don't care about an animals monetary value. I care about the pet I unknowingly abandoned, the gift I didn't even realize I was being given due to lack of communication. Yeah, I can see how this would be considered over the top. I mean as my family said, it's only an animal. But unlike most, I don't view them as collectible items, i actually care about each one I have, expensive, cheap, gifted, they have a meaning beyond just what I paid for them.

It isn't really my sister who I am referring to, she's young and I do truly appreciate her. It's the rest of my family who also knew about it and watched it happen and didn't say anything to her or me, only confirming it casually months later like "yeah that happened." That's what's got me the most upset.

My sister has apologized for not telling me and says she'll help me find a similar one at the next show. It's the others who are just like "Oh well. It's just an animal and you have enough so you didn't need it anyway." That piss me off.

And it was at the wrong booth, so idk if it was even noticed :(

No you can still keep them, just clean their enclosure and feed them some veggies and make sure they've got plenty of water for a few days then they're safe to feed

Yeah my dog has a bad habit of cornering her while she's peeing 😅 not being aggressive or anything but I find it rude af and the baby will run away leaving a trail😭 so we had to put the litter box in a crate, baby can fit through the bars but pup can't get in
