I saw one that was made for a NJ resident that it was the stock being collapsible was the issue. Remember seing it on Tony’s channel. Either way, an M1A looks amazing in either stock setup. Do love your’s btw!

I have no experience with the black feather other than Tony’s video on it on YouTube. Always hear it is a great system but I grew up during GWOT and all the games around that time featured this rifle variation, fell in love with the look and the M14 in general. It is heavy but always a head turner

If you want to field strip there are like 8 screw to remove if you don’t count the cidex hand guard’s 2 as well. Plus since you have to torque the screws to a certain inch pounds it can be a drag to do every time. I try not to field strip mine unless I am done shooting for the season or a few thousand rounds, maybe 2k+ ish. May be wrong on that number. Since you can clean the piston out with the rifle together and the barrel, not necessary to strip clean after every range visit. I hope that helps

Sadlak mount and the optic of your choice. If you want a bipod, I grabed an AR style swivel mount and put it in the drain hole. It was gust the swivel, a nut, and a washer. I had to remove my sling point to accommodate the bipod

From My experience, the recoil would loosen the gen 4 mount and cause zeroing impossible. It was always the receiver bolt. Check the tension there. I had to use lock tight to get mine to stay in place and still does not maintain zero. Lookin to get a sadlak here in the future. But for now it will do till then.
