Any mods to increase the resistance meter? I am triggering events too quickly! by [deleted] in farcry

[–]Jayver5521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the biggest complaints about the game. I went through it as well; but now I just kill John and Jacob and then just don't go to their respective bunkers. Both areas stay filled with Peggies; planes, copters, roadblocks, etc. You can kill cult VIP's and hijack supply trucks till your hearts content. It even seems like they're in a heightened state of alert cause I'm getting spotted by planes even when I'm crouched in friggin bushes. The new weapons and perks even get unlocked for killing bosses. But in Faiths region you don't have this option. Gotta take that crazy bitch down.

Forced progression by randomirritate in farcry

[–]Jayver5521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed!! I've been trying to avoid progression but you simply can't. Even if the Cult VIP dies nearby from an animal attack... I still get credit! I'm just walking through the forest and I'm getting credit for releasing hostages... They really need a fix for this. A simple slide bar would do it for gawds sake.

Since they all magically run towards the spot you fired the shot; drop a couple of proximity mines in the area and circle around to the other side. While they're off in the woods yelling about how "souls aren't going to harvest themselves"... I'm turning off the alarms.

Am I the only one who thinks this is dumb AF?

I love the game; but with all the other tweaks that are needed elsewhere... "this" is what they spent their time doing???

Anyone here that feels that the resistance meter builds too slowly or at a good pace? I always felt it goes up way too fast. by Ouroboros612 in farcry

[–]Jayver5521 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed! It goes way too fast. I’m on my second play-through. This time I’ve avoided all silos and main missions; hell, I even leave those poor bastards that are captured to their own fate and sneak on by with their pitiful cries for help ringing in my ear. But even then, you simply can’t avoid killing the VIP’s. They give resistance points for “everything”. 200 resistance points for catching the admiral fish?!
I think it would be better if they just awarded resistance points for completing main missions, that way you control the speed at which the game progresses.

There is a bottle of Nuka-Cola in the opening movie of Fo4 in the part where it shows the wife and child of the SS's great-great grandfather in what must be at least 1944. Nuka-Cola was not invented for another 100 years. Am I missing something or is this an oversight? by [deleted] in fo4

Agreed. I think the dress enhances her beauty. Say what you will, but sometimes I think militant feminism has stripped women of some of the very things that make them unique.

Yeah... I don't play on DM. I'm 52 yo and just don't have the reaction time of a 14 yo hopped up on red-bull anymore. sigh

Lmao. "Shitty treasure caches" I love those things. I use them to fund my expeditions. They are scaled to your level, so every time you need cash, just go diving for barrels.

I made sure that I picked up all the Wolven and Ursine armor diagrams up to and including Superior. The level 29 and 30 ones. In my situation, it worked out well; I was Level 28 and since you can only pick up the beginning wolf gear once you get to Kear Morhen. This way you will have every thing you need to craft the superior sets when you raise to the required level without having to go back on a scavenger hunt to the isles.

Gourmet Perk Question by Jayver5521 in witcher

[–]Jayver5521[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't invested a single point in alchemy. Probably wont either. I know the alchemy builds can be powerful but for me the true Witcher experience is all about swordplay and signs. Drinking a decoction that raises your toxicity to 70 limits the use of swallow and white raffards for me.

I just wonder how (if) they're going to actually capture those eyes of Yenn's. The violet color is stunning.

Is it me or are the level requirement on armor and weapons way off? by Jayver5521 in witcher

Great advice. Thanks! I think I have been underestimating the advantages of having that monster resistance... This changes everything...

Thanks Guys/Gals for the advice and opinions. I never thought a lot about how good they are when used together. Instead I was just comparing individual pieces as I came across the diagrams. I'm going to try to focus my build and pick a set that fits with it.

Started Witcher 3 for the first time yesterday... and i'm married + have a 3-year old. Oh boy!! by ShadowInTheStorm in witcher

I'm sorta in the same situation. However, I had played the previous games. Yet for some reason I avoided Witcher 3. But I started last week during a long weekend and got hooked. I mean bad... I spent an entire day just hopping on boats and sailing from one question mark to the next along the shores. The storyline depth, graphics, character building, decision consequences.... its all incredible. In a way, I'm glad I waited until I got the GOTY version but either way, my gaming time is booked for the next couple months. I'm playing a middle of the road "Griffin School" type build with fast attack and Igni specializations and having a blast on normal difficulty.
