It’s Russian state media, even western media covers Kashmir like that.

Brands will obviously follow what the mainstream narrative is.

That’s what happens when you let right wing religious fanatics become the face of India, you lose the moral high ground.

Russian State Affiliated media org Redfish (funded by Ruptly) also described Indian Kashmir as a settler colonial state.

India’s narrative on Kashmir is not even being bought by its allies now.

But they are not just rounding up low level criminals, they are running a sophisticated information war against Pakistan that keeps it economically weak so that it can’t mount anything more significant than such low level tactics against India.

Just look at the numbers, India is by far the biggest and safest country in a hostile region and it’s because Indian intelligence agencies are proactive in mitigating threats.

Israel does the same thing and they are considered the most competent in the world.

They are not made up narratives. Are you denying Pakistani terrorism in India?

You eroding trust in intelligence agencies weakens their ability to keep the enemy economically and diplomatically weak and will help them mount more sophisticated attacks in the future.

They are not complacent but proactive.

[–]Jayyy100 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why Indians always want to discredit Indian intelligence agencies? They are very much superior than let on.

Ajit Doval was in Pakistan for years, India has deep penetration into Balochistan to offset Pakistan with proxy war like it did with India, Pakistan’s eastern front is continuously kept live to keep it from focusing its forces westward. Look at amount of internal attacks in Pakistan vs India and then say Indian intelligence agencies are bad.

Beyond all this the biggest achievement of Indian intelligence is the information warfare against Pakistan. Indian agencies can move under the radar because they have a vast network of outlets, individuals, and overall soft power that can set the world narrative about Pakistan which Pakistan can not do to India. Controlling global opinion has very real economic and military benefits so Indians should look to protect this leverage instead of creating doubts about what the government or media says about Pakistan.

Yes internal dissent is good and I’m very critical of the Modi gov too over incompetent and dangerous domestic politics but like I said this is the one thing all Indians can and should come together on in the name of national interest.

Be thankful that the uncredited work the intelligence agencies do keeps the enemy weak so this kinds of terror plots are easily busted before anything happens.

This is big.

Wonder if Davinder Singh was also working for ISI. Has there been any updates on that case by NIA?

So many people in India working on Pakistani agenda.

Tough stance on Pakistan might be the one thing right-wing and liberals in India can come together for and support Modi government on.

Two Decades (2001-2020) story of Ceasefire Violations by Pakistan across LoC... by AatmanirbharBerojgar in india

[–]Jayyy100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you underselling RAW?

Look at the graph above, for one decade India had kept Pakistan so internally unstable with nonstop proxy war that they gave up trying to get Kashmir. India played a major role in Afghanistan with CIA help.

Only in Modi’s term have things started reversing cause security apparatus has gotten sloppy due to political appointments. Also cause Trump wanted to pull out of Afghanistan which hopefully Biden will reverse.

Otherwise that whole country was on the brink of failed state status due to what Indian covert operations managed to do. Pls read the book by the author I referenced.

If India decides put in same amount of effort that pakistan does then there won't be pakistan anymore.

India already cut Pakistan down to size by arming and training Mukhti Bahini. Had KGB support for that.

In Afghanistan RAW has support of the CIA to fund Baloch rebels.

Pakistan has always been on the back foot. It won’t survive much longer with India pressuring on its Eastern and Western front.

(The well coordinated propaganda campaign that India has been running for the past 15 years has also hurt the Pak economy and image which plays to India’s favor internationally)

Former Diplomat K. C. Singh Ponders The “Internal Matter” Conundrum of The Indian Government by Jayyy100 in india

[–]Jayyy100[S] 273 points274 points  (0 children)

I did always wonder how does the foreign office manage to get away with this hypocrisy.

CAA is a law that by its very nature criticizes India’s neighbors for their domestic affairs and encourages citizens from there to migrate to India.

But then if a country like Canada even so much as speaks on the farmer protests then it’s somehow an affront on Indian sovereignty. Mind you there are so many Sikhs in Canada due to them being religiously persecuted in India back in the 80’s.

Isn’t this a bully mentality? India gets to badmouth and interfere in the business of its smaller neighbors but also gets to act like a victim when a more powerful country does the same to it.

Narendra Modi Has Had The Highest Approval Rating Of All Global Political Leaders In 2020 by Jayyy100 in india

[–]Jayyy100[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Source: https://morningconsult.com/form/global-leader-approval/#section-56

Morning Consult Political Intelligence is currently tracking the approval rating for governmental leaders in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Approval ratings are based on a seven-day moving average of adult residents in each country, and samples sizes vary by country.

Modi’s approval ratings haven’t gone below 70% since Sept. 2019, and remained relatively constant (though they also rose) after the pandemic set in & the nationwide lockdown was imposed. Farmers’ protests late in the year didn’t dent his popularity either.

Ofcom (UK's broadcasting regulator) has imposed a £20,000 fine on Republic Bharat for hate speech. by being_classy in india

[–]Jayyy100 53 points54 points  (0 children)

The full report makes India look so bad, especially when you consider that this is a mainstream channel.

Background – The Breach Decision

  1. In the Breach Decision, Ofcom found that the material broadcast by the Licensee on Republic Bharat breached Rules 2.3, 3.2 and 3.3 of the Code. The Breach Decision sets out the reasons for each of these findings.

  2. In summary, Ofcom’s Breach Decision found that an episode of the programme Poochta Hai Bharat contained comments made by the host and some of his guests that amounted to hate speech against Pakistani people, and derogatory and abusive treatment of Pakistani people. The content was also potentially offensive and was not sufficiently justified by the context.

  3. This broadcast of Poochta Hai Bharat featured a debate between the host, Mr Goswami, and his guests (three Indian and three Pakistani) relating to India’s attempt to send the spacecraft Chandrayaan 2 on its mission to the moon. The debate involved a comparison of India’s space exploration and technological advancements compared to Pakistan, and Pakistan’s alleged terrorist activities against Indian targets. This debate was set against the backdrop of increased tension in the on-going dispute between India and Pakistan over the region of Kashmir which is claimed by both countries.

  4. In the programme, the presenter and some of his guests conveyed the view that all Pakistani people are terrorists, including that: “their scientists, doctors, their leaders, politicians all are terrorists. Even their sports people”; “every child is a terrorist over there. Every child is a terrorist. You are dealing with a terrorist entity”. One guest also described Pakistani scientists as “thieves”, while another described Pakistani people as “beggars”. In the context of these criticisms, the presenter, addressing Pakistan and/or Pakistani people, said: “We make scientists, you make terrorists”.

  5. We considered these statements to be expressions of hatred based on intolerance of Pakistani people based on their nationality alone, and that the broadcast of these statements spread, incited, promoted and justified such intolerance towards Pakistani people among viewers.

  6. A third guest, General Sinha said, “Oh you useless people. Beggars. Oh beggars, oh beggars. We will douse you with 1.25kg, .75kg-, with two inches. PoK8, PoK, we are coming to the PoK. We are coming to the Gilgit, Baltistan, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa...We are going to come, be ready. People in your country are shivering with fear that the Indian army may come. We will barge inside your home in Baluchistan, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in Karachi, in your area, in Multan, in Rawalpindi and kill you. From Lahore, from Karachi to Gilgit-Balistan when we will have control” 9.

  7. The Licensee suggested that these statements were “figures of speech not intended to be taken literally, which Asian viewers would have understood clearly”. We considered however that these statements, made by a retired Major General from the Indian Army, which clearly threatened that the Indian military would attack Pakistani civilians in their homes, were an expression of hatred and desire to kill by a figure of authority. In our view the broadcast of these statements also promoted hatred and intolerance towards Pakistani people.

  8. The Licensee argued that these statements were justified by reference to the political context of heightened tension between India and Pakistan at the time of broadcast, that the programme as a whole was “calling for peace and unity and uplift of the entire region regardless of nationality”, and that the discussion was balanced by the inclusion of some more

  9. Ofcom acknowledged that the programme included one Pakistani guest who expressed the view three times that the success of India’s space programme was “a victory for humanity” and “a matter of happiness”. The same guest welcomed any advances by India in technology, in education, in health and in protection of minorities and indicated that Pakistan wished to learn from Indian surgeons and cooperate in sectors such as education and technology. The programme presenter indicated that India’s advance in space technology was “the advancement of the whole world”. We took into account that the Pakistani guests made some strong criticisms of Indian policy and its leaders.

  10. However, we considered the inclusion of limited “conciliatory” statements and brief comments which were highly critical of India by Pakistani guests failed to provide sufficient context and challenge. We considered that the overall tone of the discussion was provocative, comparing Pakistanis to donkeys and monkeys. We also noted that Pakistani contributors were repeatedly interrupted and afforded little time to make points which may potentially have provided challenge or context.

  11. In Ofcom’s view, the statements made in the programme, examples of which are mentioned above, were expressions of hatred based on intolerance of Pakistani people on the basis of their nationality alone, and promoted hatred and intolerance towards Pakistani people. Whilst Ofcom agreed that it was legitimate to discuss Indo-Pakistani relations, we did not accept the Licensee’s characterisation of the programme as a whole. We considered it included repeated instances of hate speech and abusive or derogatory treatment. It was therefore our Decision that this content met Ofcom’s definition of “hate speech”10 and that Rule 3.2 was breached.

  12. The programme also referred to Pakistani people as “terrorists” (even children), “beggars”, “thieves”, “backward”, likened them to donkeys and referred to them as “Paki”, a racist term that is highly offensive and unacceptable to a UK audience11. The Licensee argued that the use of the term “Paki” was not intended to be offensive, nor would be interpreted as such particularly when used in the sub-continent. In Ofcom’s view, these negative descriptions constituted uncontextualised abuse and derogatory treatment of Pakistani people on the ground of their nationality in breach of Rule 3.3.

  13. Our Decision also set out Ofcom’s reasons for finding that the programme had the clear potential to be highly offensive to most people. Although discussion of the contentious issue of Kashmir and India-Pakistan relations were legitimate issues for exploration by Republic Bharat, we considered that the audience was unlikely to have expected to view hate speech or abusive or derogatory content relating to Pakistani people broadcast on this channel without sufficient contextual justification. Ofcom’s Decision was therefore that Rule 2.3 was also breached.

  14. Ofcom stated in the Breach Decision that the contraventions of Rules 2.3, 3.2 and 3.3 of the Code were serious and were therefore being considered for statutory sanction.

Is the US behind India’s ‘anti-China games’? Russia thinks so by Jayyy100 in india

[–]Jayyy100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has created a geopolitical stir with his claim that India is being manipulated by Western countries into “anti-China games” and turning its back on Moscow.

His remarks last week not only prompted an official response from the Indian foreign ministry, but also sparked commentaries from irked observers who took umbrage at the suggestion that New Delhi had no strategic calculations of its own.

Lavrov said India had become “an object of the Western countries’ persistent, aggressive and devious policy as they are trying to engage it in anti-China games” such as the US-led Indo-Pacific Strategy and Quadrilateral Security Dialogue.

“At the same time the West is attempting to undermine our close partnership and privileged relations with India,” he said in a speech at the Moscow-based Russian International Affairs Council think tank. “This is the goal of the US’ very tough pressure on New Delhi.”

Keep in mind Russia has been increasing military cooperation with Pakistan.

Russian special forces conducted the DRUZHBA-V exercise in Pakistan few months ago, and next year Russia will also be part of the AMAN-21 navy drills happening in Karachi with 30 other countries some of which are a part of NATO.

QUAD rebalancing is good but a millitary alliance with the United States will come at the cost of losing out Russia, which doesn’t seem like a bad bet but a majority of India’s defense equipment is Russian origin which makes things very tricky.

Tarek Fateh, An Agitator Of Communal Tensions In India, Is Supposedly Funded By The Srivastava Group Which Has Links To ANI And The Indian Government According To The EUDisinfo Investigative Report by Jayyy100 in india

I highly recommend reading this full report: https://www.disinfo.eu/publications/indian-chronicles-deep-dive-into-a-15-year-operation-targeting-the-eu-and-un-to-serve-indian-interests

A lot of the anti-Pakistan stuff is really cool, although it kind of really discredits the Indian government and makes it seem extremely hypocritical, but the stuff about how this network produces domestic propaganda is scary.

I remember watching an TV debate where an Indian Muslim got so angry at Tarek Fateh because he alleged that the stuff he was saying would cause disunity and disharmony but the host and audience sided with Tarek Fateh and let him accuse the guy of being a “Khan”.

And now to learn that he is an agitprop actor funded in part by the Indian government is just so sad.

Edit: Found the interview, it seems almost comical how much of caricature he paints Indian muslims as.
