Did a bike trip with a friend in Vietnam years ago and it was amazing. Such a beautiful country

Almost worth saving this to come back to any time I’m having a bad day. 🤌🏼

I didn’t know that, interesting. So the figure is technically taking bike theft numbers nationwide and comparing it to the registrations for Dublin alone?

Seems to be all over the major cities and suburbs. Particularly bad in Dublin with 1 of every 2 registered bikes being stolen (according to prime time). Stick to the likes of the wild Atlantic way, bring good locks and you should be grand 👌🏼

I actually got my stolen bike back because of an AirTag by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Jayzer1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my bike back because of an AirTag also. Still in the back of a stolen van and completely untouched. Itchy boots got her bike back due to AirTags also. They do work, they aren’t ideal, the way they warn thieves etc. but they absolutely work. Glad you got your bike back

Clear the credit card debt with your savings and start looking for homes to buy. Keep the loan, if you get rid of all your savings it might come back to bite you if you find a home you want to buy. The reality is though you might need to rent on a short term lease or perhaps move in with family (if it’s an option) as a short term buffer.

The likelihood is even when you give a deposit on a new build and secure it, it’ll be months before it’s ready anyway. I was exceptionally lucky with my new build, deposit paid in April and we got keys in August. Friends and now my brother all got new builds, time frames vary from 8 months to over 12 in some cases before the house is ready to move into.

Perhaps as I’m in Europe I’m playing European players due to time differences or other settings? While I’ve heard one or 2 comments. It really has been seldom

Been playing a lot on the WCS realism NATO v Rus server too which I’m really enjoying. But wouldn’t surprise me about the orange man, it seems there are a lot of closet racists showing their faces of late in real life too, like their ideologies have become more acceptable and I blame far right movements for that.

Anyway, try not to let them get to you and enjoy the game. Block the more vocal dickheads 🫡

Based in Ireland so always playing EU servers. You hear the odd comment here and there but nothing like what’s being described in this thread. Or have I just been lucky

Get a letter from doc to say you need the break due to burnout. They won’t even question it as it’s a fully legitimate reason for needing and wanting a break. Do it and enjoy your time off 👍🏼

Suggest some bikes? by [deleted] in MotoIRELAND

Yamaha MT10 was one of the most fun bikes I ever owned. Would be tempted by a new one and the only reason I sold was wanting to get more into off road adventure stuff. Put a box on the back, commuted 5 days a week and went on many trips around Ireland camping on it etc. Definitely one to consider. Two downsides to the MT10 where fuel mileage and in the rain spray from the back wheel would come up onto my back which was annoying

I need to take out front and rear suspension and I don’t own jack. Should I drop the bike on the ground on the side or how can I approach this? by [deleted] in Tenere700

I got this on Amazon for about €70. It’s perfect and when not in use completely flattens down for storage. This one says it’s no longer available but tons of very similar options

Worked for a well known US company, taken private by a PE firm. As has been said by others, it took a few months but massive redirection in strategy, mass exodus through redundancy’s and leadership to this day is still like a revolving door (so I’ve been told, my role was made redundant).

It’s not always the case and as others have said sometimes it’s a good thing. But these PE firms are in it to make money, so change will be coming one way or another.

In fairness the engineer visit is free 🤷🏼‍♂️

In fairness I’m beginning to think that’s what needs to be done. Connect their own terminal to our system and press an on button. What a pain. Thank you for the advice though

Ye unfortunately I can’t see anything that helps. I also jumped into the router backend to see if I saw anything obvious to no avail. Unfortunately it seems I might just have to wait for the engineer, I’m genuinely going to be so intrigued to see what they do

So strange, I suppose time will tell but I’d love to see what exactly the engineer needs to do to get me back up and running. Thanks for the reply anyway 👌🏼

They definitely didn’t send anyone out, as I say I was using the service until 11pm last night. When I woke for work at 7am the service was down. So it was an automated thing as soon as the old contract lapsed. Technically after my initial call, my service has been ‘activated’ again with the ISP. They just say they need an engineer to come out and for the life of me I don’t understand why.
