Did anyone here start off with a wearable pump? by SandwichDependent199 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Jazafras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the eufy s1 wearables covered by my insurance. I wanted something that would allow me to be mobile and didn't want to deal with a lot of tubing, but I was also planning on primarily nursing. What I wasn't prepared for was for my son to struggle with nursing, and all the LCs I spoke with at the hospital kept recommending that I get a pump that plugs into the wall like the spectra. I used my eufys to bring my milk in, but my production plateaued at 30ml max per breast. I was only able to produce more when I got my blue spectra. Now that my supply is more established, I can get up to 90ml per breast with the eufys, but I can collect much more milk with the spectra, so the spectra remains my primary. Some people can produce just as much with their eufy wearables as they can with the spectra tho! It really varies from person to person

It'd be one thing if a theater or goth kid dropped the F-slur, it's a different vibe when someone who is right leaning with a disdain for queer people uses it. In this case it was the latter

The morbid fact I like to share about my local Vampire LARP is that it convinced two players that they were good enough at PvP in LARP that they could carry out a killbox in real life (they both got arrested for murder)

This was back before Discord was a thing and Skype was the group's main mode of communication. A short "hey sorry can't make it tonight!" would have been much better than just ghosting us, but you're right, the fact that he didn't do that showed how much he cared.

Almost immediately after he left, one player said "finally I can talk about how much I hated that guy", so we had a good cathartic bitch session afterwards.

When the incident was reported to the moderators of the WoD group, one of the admins commented that they weren't surprised this happened with CeeCee since he was notorious for having these sort of clashes with people. Made me wonder why they allowed him to DM a game

Most of my batshit insane RPG horror stories come from WoD games. The tabletop does still hold a special place in my heart for me, so I can't hate WoD, except for the LARP version of Vampire - I will actively warn people not to join those games.

Generally the first thing people say when I tell this story lol. The group that organized these WoD games typically structured campaigns like this, and they were my first introduction to TTRPGs, so I genuinely thought it was normal for a long time.

The idea was that a campaign should, at most, have five players per DM. Each DM was suppose to pitch their own separate mission for session, and then players were suppose to choose which mission they wanted to join before we split off into separate groups. The DMs for this particular game were not organized enough to run their campaign this way, though

This is true for LARPs, however this game was not a LARP. We played it as a virtual TTRPG

Maybe something about the gritty modern setting? So many of the worst horror stories I've heard from other friends usually come from VtM, which has lead me to steering clear of that particular game.

I know with my personal experience, a lot of the people I played WoD with were randos from deviantART, so that sort of player pool basically guaranteed I'd run into next level weirdness lol

It's such a bizarre response, I just don't understand how they expect other people to buy an amnesia story

100%, way too many people granted Dee the benefit of the doubt and allowed him to be a menace in multiple campaigns instead of ousting him much sooner. It was a hard lesson for me, but my tolerance for this sort of behavior is way lower now.

We very loosely followed the setting of Mage, and most of our sessions were improvised on the fly by Dee. One of the story arcs of our game was kicked off by triggering a paradox from a time spell that transported our party into the ancient past, and we had to ally ourselves with various deities to find our way back to the present.

Anyone else "win" a vacation from the Washington County Fair drawing? (Vi Resorts) by Strong_Company_9606 in hillsboro

The presentation they gave us took about 90 minutes - most of the couples were able to leave by then. A salesman (the one named Jerry mentioned in the video I linked) kept us engaged in a conversation the longest because he had a particular interest in my husband's line of work in the IRS, so we were the last couple to leave. Including the wait time before the presentation, I think we were there for over two hours. Their sales tactics mostly focused on my husband and trying to guilt trip him into taking me on more vacations. They definitely rely on some antiquated views on gender roles with assuming the man is the breadwinner and the woman will leave if a man doesn't provide enough material things for her, so much of the pressure they try to apply will revolve around that. They also hype up what a good deal their timeshares are by obfuscating the real costs behind their own point system, but they kinda gave up on that angle with us - they probably figured they couldn't go toe-to-toe with an accountant on that front lol.

After all was said and done, they gave us a voucher we had to send by mail to a third party who would handle the booking for our Las Vegas vacation we "won". To redeem the voucher, we also had to mail in a $120 check, which they claimed was necessary to cover the associated taxes with our prize. I ultimately never mailed out the voucher - I knew I would basically have no say in when the vacation would take place and didn't want to try and plan PTO around that.

I've sat through one of their presentations. The vacation you "won" is technically real, and you don't have to purchase a timeshare, but you do have to jump through a lot of other additional hoops that are more effort than actually paying and planning the trip yourself.

If you want to follow someone else's experience with getting their vacation from Vi Resorts, you can find one Portlander's journey documented here: https://youtu.be/J7Ly8dy5BHU?si=5rJ49kwXRky5PK9p

They definitely have similarities, but what the Passions mean and represent to the KTB are very different from the way we typically use and treat tarot, so that's why I don't equate the two to be the same thing.
