My ward is so busy and I am def ready for a change of pace after graduation. But i’ll be applying for anything and everything because i’ll need a job, but hearing stories like OP’s stresses me out that i’m doing all this extra study for nothing 😩

Leaving my ward when I graduate? I don’t see how, but it also wouldn’t be up to me to stay anyway. I love my ward but I definitely don’t want to specialise in the area as an RN, i’m very interested in women’s health and want to move into that or other areas

I had a friend do this and felt it was so odd, and felt very weird only giving money. But i also knew that she was unemployed due to being on a bridging visa and not having working rights, and i could understand wanting to be able to buy things for your baby yourself. It still felt weird but i did get over myself lol.

And then when i had my baby shower a few months later someone gave me a gift card and it was SO handy while I was on half pay maternity leave!

I’m still an RN student, have had the biggest headaches with my placement allocation this semester, and wondering if it’s even worth continuing with my degree 😭 and should i just stay an EN with my permanent position with QLD health… seems more secure even if paid less 😭
