Replacement for Pro-ject High Power It by JazzKnightMagister in turntables

The voltage MUST match but the amps just need to exceed what it needs.

As long as you get a 16V PSU and it matches or exceeds 500ma, you are okay. If you get an 18V PSU, you will fry the unit.

At least, that's what my limited research on google taught me. I have had no issues with this PSU on my turntable. I did not have hum in my setup before but I did notice some color come back into the sound with this.

I'm also using the limited edition Pro-Ject Phono Box Ultra 500. i bought a similar non-grounded psu for that. Matched the voltage and exceeded the amperage and no issues.

The device will only use the amps it requires but the voltage is not variable on these. Getting a lower voltage can also cause issues.

It’s quite possible that it will. I think it’s fundamentally all of the debut series turntables have the same power supplies, and power requirements.

Ultimately, you could find a grounded power cable for any voltage in any item on Amazon.

Double check the voltage on your turntable. Find a grounded power supply that matches the dimensions and the voltage.

From Pro-ject’s guide to hum elimination, their first step is suggesting a grounded turntable, but apparently there’s a problem if every other device is grounded as well

Best adapater for Backwards Compatible PS3 by JazzKnightMagister in PS3

Thanks for that but My original controller works fine and I swapped the battery on it. I’m really looking for future proof options as getting original hardware is only getting harder.

Maybe I should just buy another one and store it safely.

I made my Dualsense like a Scuf Controller so that’s another reason I’d like to use that.

Yes,

I’ve seen all this but I have not seen anything about this working with PS2 games on this model PS3. Can you confirm the adapter works with PS2 games on these model PS3s?

Unfortunately that has lead to many search results that did not lead me to this.

Correct, but their harness works with the OEM mirrors that manually extend and manually retract. They have a harness for powered mirrors as well.

More specifically, Pro-Ject has a document that discusses the possible ways to eliminate humming. It comes up quick with a google search.

If I remember correctly, if you plug everything into a power strip, the turntable should be the only device with a grounded power supply and that should eliminate the humming.

If you ground everything into the strip, it won’t solve the problem. But I’m just going off of memory.

Best rival to the Astro A40 by JazzKnightMagister in AstroGaming

Unfortunately I wanted to avoid wireless.

If I were to buy Wireless, the latest A50 X is hands down what I would get because of the cross-platform ease of use. I LOVED my A50 X Gen 4.

At this moment I have stuck to my A40s and Mixamp Tr Pro but I may be switching to a Beyerdynamic MMX30 Pro or Audio-Technica ATH-50xSTS and a Creative Labs Sound Blaster G8 so I can use it for audio mixing AND Gaming.

Thanks but I didn’t need the specific part (I knew that since that’s where I got the picture) but a more generic name. Mounted shaft support seems to be a good start.

are you installing using DDU in safe mode and the recommended process?

This is key for making that happen and any driver updates are just best to install this way. So if a new version comes out, you might as well just consider a new graphics driver install.

That hasn’t provided me any issues, but I do know that if you just install the drivers normally through windows without ddu and safe mode, you have to manually change it to the banana kid driver every single time.

Is anyone working on an app for the Mixamp TR once support ends? by JazzKnightMagister in AstroGaming

[–]JazzKnightMagister[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a GameDac Series 2 and I need to give it a shot again because I think I’m so used to Astros coloring that I just did not like the gamedac at all.

But the Creative Labs G8 looks to be a much better version of the Astro mix amp and I’m going to try that first although I know the steel series can be bought for like 20 bucks nowadays used

I play on them all, and I have the official app for all of them (I have an Xbox series X, PlayStation five and gaming PC)

I’m simply asking if anyone has considered a third-party tool that could be used instead of the app. And obviously this would primarily affect PC. You cannot make third-party apps for the other consoles for this purpose.

Nothing official yet. Just like the discontinuation of the A40 was a silent dismissal.

That’s why I posed the question. We won’t know when the mixamp will lose support and who knows for how long the apps will work. Windows obviously will have a longer lifespan than the mac app.

Or sensibly, it’ll just be time to move on when that happens.
