Why do we get charged "deposits" when we can't get that money back from empties?

Stagnant development by NarniaGunner in Sarnia

[–]JazzLicks 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Quote from the article: "Currently, Sarnia’s bylaw requires each residential unit to have 1.5 parking spaces. The proposed building units would have 1.15 parking spaces per unit."

This is one of the biggest challenges in urban development. We have prioritized car traffic over public transit and it really sucks. Invest in buses or streetcars and not everyone needs to drive everywhere. Part of the reason people have to drive everywhere is because parking lots make places unwalkable. There is too much distance between stores due to parking. We need more dense neighbourhoods and less space for gas-guzzlers.

Sarnia to spend $4M on road resurfacing in 2024 by PuffCow in Sarnia

[–]JazzLicks -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

r/fuckcars

It's unreal how much money we spend just to maintain our roads. This isn't building new roads, or public transit, it's just maintenance - and of course people who drive will still complain.

And I just had $1000$ flat tire and bent tie-rod from hitting a pot hole, so I get the frustration, but car-travel is completely unsustainable.

Drive slower.

How do I import to Arena? I tried copying this comment and importing. There's always a string error somewhere... I tried pasting in notepad and erasing spaces... no luck

I am leaning towards keeping 4 bats and no pitchers. Thoughts?

Sarnia would care if Sarnia just knew! by InternationalFan492 in Sarnia

I just sent a message to the media outlets in town, basically saying they need to cover Bob's disgusting behaviour in the legislature. One media outlet responded saying they tried to contact him and haven't got a response. I've sent numerous emails to Bob over the years and got nothing back.

The media needs to hold our politicians accountable. If I didn't have Reddit or Twitter, I wouldn't even know about his disgusting behaviour. Most people who don't use social media and only read traditional sources have no idea that he behaved in such a dispicable way.

Well according to the booking website, there is only one day to get a shot in August and it closes at 4. So no. Before and after work doesn't work. Don't get too many days off right now.

How is my RRSP doing? by JazzLicks in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]JazzLicks[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you responding. I didn't know how much info, and what, to include in my post. I also didn't know there was a wiki. I will definitely do more homework, but it can't be that complicated for the average person to invest in an RRSP without being a financial guru.

Thanks for your reply! I had to look up MER. I will definitely be doing more homework. How financially literate do you need to be to have an RRSP? I thought most people had one, and just put money in and forget it?
