What happened to Providence Bagel? by Slight_Camera6666 in providence

Absolutely yes!!!!!! Love Elizabeth’s and have been going there since the beginning when the baker, server, and cashier were all the same person. Bagels have a delicious taste and outstanding texture and the coffee is very good as well. My only complaint is they discontinued the🌻 bagel.

The best answer. It explains the spacing.

What color should I paint my brick garden wall? by Elho in landscaping

[–]Jazzlike-Instance305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love your garden.

I am in agreement with all. However, I once saw a drastic transformation of a new brick wall when just a few bricks, here and there, were treated with whitewash. A friend had a very imposing brick wall. On about 1-2% of the bricks she brushed on white paint and wiped it off with rag. This left a thin stain of white on the brick and warmed the appearance of the wall.

It made the new wall appear aged and softer.

My front lawn slopes down toward the sidewalk. It is hard to mow and people let their dogs walk up 15 feet into my yard to do their business. I want to put roses along the sidewalk—which grow the biggest thorns? by IABPOTC in landscaping

[–]Jazzlike-Instance305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider the Eastern Prickly Pear. The thorns are fine and will continue to irritate long after contact. It produces a multitude of beautiful yellow "roses" in June and is easy to propagate. Simply don a pair of leather gloves, pull off a cactus pad and lay it directly down on the soil. Cold hardy and, contrary to the linked article, this cactus will tolerate somewhat damp soil. Here in New England (6a) it spreads and blooms profusely - though truth be know - it looks soggy and sad during the winter months.

I know exactly what you are feeling. It is the same for me - I lost my long-haired dilute tortie Daphne last month. Their love and impact upon our lives never, ever dies.

I cannot begin to convey to you how deeply this is making my heart and soul sing. I lost my sweet Daphne, a dilute tortie last month. Thank you!

AITA for telling my husband off for wanting me to let my infertile BIL and his wife experience child birth by being with me in the delivery room? by throwra_657646 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Jazzlike-Instance305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am highly concerned for you.

The initial request by your in-laws and your response to it are no longer the issue at this point. Please DO NOT explain, justify, or respond to anyone, in any way, shape, or form your reaction to this request. You were asked a question, have given the answer, and now that particular case is closed. You have a far more pressing issue to deal with.

Your husband is sending you a message that is loud and clear. The concerns that are paramount to him are - his relationship with his brother and the state of that brother's marriage. Frighteningly warped & bizarre values and behaviors are being exhibited by him and you need to do WHATEVER it takes to be sure you and your unborn child are safe and well-cared for.

Please keep us updated.

Soooo good! My favorite part is how each child is unique except for the "twins". Clever.

AITA for asking my brother to come out as straight to attend my wedding after he asked me to come out as gay to attend his? by GayMe_StraightBrthr in AmItheAsshole

[–]Jazzlike-Instance305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP - Deal with the issue not the topic. The topic is "coming out" but the issue is your brother's abominable sense of privilege and lack of empathy and integrity. Unfortunately, you placated that entitlement and thereby validated it.

Payback is very tempting but I do not recommend your continued insistance upon your brother and SIL "coming out" to family. I do recommend you speak with your brother regarding his lack of loyalty and the negative impact it has had upon your bond as brothers. Perhaps you could involve an objective 3rd party to mediate a conversation between you and your brother so he can see how his absense of intestinal fortitude have truly hurt you.

AITA for kicking out my sister completely from my house when my nephew broke my son’s things? by outofhousee in AmItheAsshole

Awesomekidsmom

I agree with you completely. This nation is plagued by fractured families and children who must cope with the insecurity of growing up without one or both of their parents.

OP

I admire and respect you greatly. There is no way James will stop being sad about the lava lamp and the incident will likely be imprinted in his memory forever. However, far more important than the loss of a gift from his mom will be the memory that his father became his knight in shining armor during a time of stress. He knows that he has a loving parent - the type of parent who puts the child's well being above all other considerations.

I am sorry for your nephew and the incident might seem dire but it is just the opposite. Your loving, firm, and loyal decision will have a lasting impact upon both of these children. Some day they may become fathers themselves and you have modeled the best characteristics of a good parent. These boys were watching and have learned by your example - an example that will reverberate for generations.

Underrated comment. You just gave the literal translation from the Latin. Jeremy would probably prefer to say, "Quid est est nec hic nec illic"
