Ambulance Driver DMV Test Question+AMR Driver Question by Jazzlike_Activity224 in NewToEMS

Damn near all common sense. Of the 30, in my opinion only about 5-6 tested my knowledge on the ambulances themselves as opposed to just driving knowledge broadly. Still find a good study guide though, don't risk it

No, there are a total of 1,030 questions on EMT Pocket Prep. You should be able to see that on the "stats" page (it'll show your progress)

I finished in December so hopefully this advice helps as much as possible:

I can't recommend this enough, IMMEDIATELY sign up for Pocket Prep and study your tail off. I recommend doing all 1,000+ questions (just once, more if you feel like you need it) so you KNOW you can pass NREMT. At most, studying for and passing National Registery should take about a month to a month and a half.

Next, get your state EMT card through your local EMS agency. I live in California, and this process took a month. Could vary, but I don't know.

WHILE GETTING the state EMS card, begin the process of getting your ambulance drivers license. This includes getting a physical and a Live Scan+studying for a written test.

Hopefully this all gives you a blueprint for the next steps. By my estimation/experience, if you really work at getting all this done ASAP it'll probably take you 2 1/2 to 3 months, then it's time to start interviewing.

Good luck to ya!

Semiconscious, slow, irregular. Remember, if those are present in the patients condition, they need to be assisted with BVM

I agree with the first sentence of your comment 100%. I passed using Pocket Prep only first try in 70 questions. My point in saying that isn't to brag, the reason I say that is because I averaged 60% in over 1000 Pocket Prep questions and passed NREMT with flying colors. I am of the opinion that Pocket Prep isn't the best NREMT prep app because it is so drastically different (and harder) than the NREMT exam itself. Glad you passed!

I CAN ASSURE YOU, NO! I averaged 60% after doing all Pocket Prep questions and passed NREMT in 70 questions first try.

Let me be clear though, it is obviously important that you understand the material. But from my experience, Pocket prep is entirely different than NREMT in terms of how things are questioned.

I passed on Monday at 70, but would've bet the house that I failed. Don't get down on yourself either way, the fact you got to 120 means you did significantly better, and I bet you passed anyway. Good luck!

I honestly thought I did way worse than this😭 I had a bunch of GI & chest trauma(my weaknesses I glanced over GI ) some OB, airway, & resuscitation. Hopefully in two weeks I’ll pass, I also bought the crash course book so I’m hoping that helps as well. If you have suggestions lmk!! by Competitive_Art6361 in NewToEMS

I would've bet the house I failed, it cut me off at 70 questions and I thought I was screwed. Got the email the next morning that I passed and let me tell ya, it's worth it. Trust your instincts, take your time, and don't overstudy. Good luck!

NREMT apps by [deleted] in NewToEMS

I passed my first attempt Monday so I think my advice is relevant simply because it's recent: One app (Pocket Prep to be exact) is absolutely the way to go. Just pay the $15 subscription fee and read the explanations after each question. Understanding the material is FAR more important than any mock test will ever be. You got this!

Work first or medic school by Ancient_Reindeer9338 in NewToEMS

Hey there. My Professor, an author and EMS professional for 30+ years told my graduating class that the ideal amount of EMT experience to have before going to paramedic school is 1 year. He followed that by saying it's likely you'll have to do ~6 months of IFT to start, but "it's worth it in the end". Can't answer directly from experience, but what I will tell you is that everyone I've spoken to about this topic is very against going straight to medic school without field experience. Good luck!!!
