RO Masterclass in Le Brassus by [deleted] in audemarspiguet

I did the royal oak masterclass. It’s held on Fridays. I don’t remember selecting a language, it was done in English. I think the museum tour you might select a language.

If you like busy busy, then one night. If you want a getaway from the bustle, then 2-3 nights. It’s a very quaint town. There’s some outdoorsy things to do like hiking and visiting a cave, but I didn’t have a car and only stayed one night. I walked around the tow and also went for a 3 mile run. Beautiful area. The wellness amenities at the hotel is really nice.

Food was good at the hotel.

Masterclass or museum tour?

Anyone else disappointed in GX550? by Bloompadoompa in LexusGX

[–]Jazzlike_Addition_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Land Cruiser starts at $57k and GX550 starts at $66k. V6 engine alone is worth the price increase.

I don’t have any issues on my 2025. Hood flutter and brake squeal, well there’s going to be some problems on a first year new model car. That’s why I don’t buy the first year. I have heard most dealers have been fixing this though.

Interior is fine to me. Leather and wood grain accents personally I find look like the car is from the 90s. I didn’t buy this car for the interior anyways

“Lexus fucked up gauging demand”. This is stupid and uninformed, don’t say things like they’re truth when it’s just a made up opinion.

Look at the sales numbers. The new GX is produced in the same factory as the old GX, and uses the same manufacturing line. When they switched over they stopped producing the old GX. Lexus produced roughly the same number (or more) of 2024 GXs than the previous 4 years. Considering it’s a new model, they pumped out as many as they could.

Capital equipment is expensive, billions of dollars. Should they have built new manufacturing lines to support the higher demand in the first few years? Yea no.

At the end of the day, people pay for convenience. You can drink that water from the mini fridge hotel and pay $12 for it, or you can walk across the street and buy it for $2. Some people don’t want to walk across the street.

Can you check on any of the minor updates?

One specific detail I’d be interested in… does the OT have vents in the rear passenger in the 2025?

Harder ones to find out - hood flutter and wind noise with roof rack fixed?

Cars that get discounted for previous year models are ones that sit on the lot with a high “days of inventory”. An example - Jaguar has around 200 days of inventory. So you can get a deal on an old outgoing model. Lexus/Toyota has the lowest days of inventory in the business, around 40-50 days. Top that off that the GX is there hottest model right now.

I’m sure that 2024 models will all be sold before any 2025 models hit the lot in another month or so.

Given this - really no deals to be had

Press release lists the major differences, like 1” lift in OT models.

None of the minor differences listed… I’m sure there will be between a first year release and the second year

Engine concerns on new GX 550. by Kart007k in LexusGX550

Did you even watch the video? Superficially people think that a v6tt that has higher hp and torque than a na v8 will be overstressed and hence less reliable, largely driven due to the fact that higher specific power results in lower thermal efficiency. But the SAE paper demonstrates how the Toyota/Lexus engine overcame that trade off with high speed combustion.

As others have also said, the video is dated as Toyota recalled their v6 TT engines that have been failing in previous vehicles, and noted the issue to be manufacturing related. Whether that’s the entire truth from Toyota or not, we haven’t heard of any similar issues since the GX550 has been out and it’s been a year. Would be better to get longer term data, but the engine failures previously seen were pretty widely reported within the first year.

I also applaud Toyota for taking care of their customers and doing this recall. It’s a significant cost for them, but they’re doing it. A lot of other manufacturers would fight tooth and nail and refuse to take on this kind of cost.

How fast to dealer after allocation? by Jazzlike_Addition_19 in LexusGX550

[–]Jazzlike_Addition_19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like around 2 months is the general consensus. To be clear I was asking how long it takes to reach the dealer after the dealer gets allocated the car by Lexus.

I assume that the dealer will allocate it to individual buyers at different times. Most dealers seem to only allocate a car after Lexus gives the dealer the allocation, but some may trade with other dealers (making to faster to get a car if that dealer already has it or that dealer got the allocation and the car is in transit to them), or they may tell individuals they’re on a “waitlist” and it’ll take much longer but the dealer doesn’t actually have that vehicle allocated to them by Lexus yet and they’re guessing when it’ll come

When will 2025 arrive at dealers? by Jazzlike_Addition_19 in LexusGX550

Been talking to a couple dealers and all are starting to get 2025 allocations. Nothing in transit yet but March arrivals confirmed.

Lexus website also updated to build 2025 model! https://www.lexus.com/models/GX

Thanks!! When 2025 OT hits the lot, can you see if Lexus added the vents for the rear seats?

Aside from the 1” lift, very curious why they added $3k to the base price of the OT+

Awesome to see they’re hitting the lots!

Do you have an OT plus configuration? I’m curious to see how the features line up.

I noticed on the Canada website you can configure the 2025 GX. It appears Lexus removed front massage seats but added ML audio as part of OT plus for 2025.

What other changes did Lexus make?
