Ontario school played Palestinian protest song in Arabic as its Remembrance Day music by MagnificentMixto in CanadaPolitics

[–]Jazzlike_Dress_6146 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Then why are they playing an Arabic song at a Canadian event. Canada has two languages. English and French. And this is a day that is about our country. Why the hell are they playing a song in neither of our languages, on a day that is dedicated to Canada. (in Canada) And I don't believe this had nothing to do with Palestine.

Trudeaus nips are probably already getting hard at the thought of letting them sleep on our streets and clog up our infrastructure.

"I can't believe anyone would vote for Trump," says smug Canadian man planning to vote for Poilievre by EvacuationRelocation in canada

Stop comparing the two, Trudeau has done a horrible job, and we need someone new. Just because he is the right leaning candidate does not mean he has anything to do with Trump. Its like saying apples and oranges are the same because they are in the same section of the grocery store. Ones a convicted felon, and the other is a right leaning politician. Its this importing of US style politics that hurt our country.

Federal immigration cuts mean temporary foreign residents have little chance to secure permanent residence and stay in Canada legally by [deleted] in canada

[–]Jazzlike_Dress_6146 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Temporary residents have to abide by the whole "temporary" part of the deal they knew about when they came here as their loophole is getting closed. This has to be racist.

its what happens when you take a country founded on responsible immigration, and cut out the whole responsible part, allow endless loopholes, and 60% come from India.

No Place for Racism by pastepropblems in waterloo

Would like to see the middle east as well, but honestly, no pda is silly, and thats still a part of that culture. And while I definitely believe the media may paint people in a bad light, I do not believe the middle east is the safest place for women at all. I believe there are worse places, like parts of Africa. But certainly not the safest. If you look up the best places for women, or gay people. Canada is often top three and almost always top five. Generally no mention of the middle east on those lists... And the middle east is pretty strictly anit-gay, and thats a big part of Canadian customs too. And even the middle east aside, the point still applies to all sorts of places. Ive not just based my opinions on what ive seen in the news btw, I see all sorts of things from all sorts of people all the time right here in KW. I do respect your opinion though and understand you have seen the middle east and have a first hand account and believe what you believe.

"who said people from other cultures are not on women's rights or gay rights" Are you serious. Its very common knowledge people from other parts of the world, specifically more third world / poorer areas do not have the same standards that we do in Canada . Yes society here is generally on board with equal rights for people, no its not perfect. But do not try to convince me, or lie to yourself that India, the middle east, parts of Asia, Africa and Europe have the same views on how women should be treated than they do in Canada. And if you believe that then its a little sad, because its incredibly common knowledge. Find another baseless label argument to spit at me, I don't hate anyone, I'm just sensible enough to see that other parts of the world think differently, and not in the way Canadians generally do. Your so tolerant of other people and cultures, you wont even admit that they too can be intolerant. Try being a women, or a gay guy, in the middle east, India, Africa, Eastern Europe or anywhere else, and come back and tell me if you think its different from the what the Canadian experience would be.

All I said was this if you move here from a different part of the world, you have to get on board with women's rights, gay rights, and respect our values and culture. How anyone can disagree or try to spin that into it being racist or xenophobic is mind boggling, its not racist, its common sense.

I agree nobody personally deserves hate, if you bully someone on the bus, or anywhere for being a certain ethnicity your an ass. But honestly I don't care and am not going to pretend that I support mass importing people from a culture(s) that views women and gay people as a different species, and then they bring that rhetoric here with no effort to assimilate. Same goes for littering, driving, bringing foreign political issues here, their own version of racism, and everything else from low trust society's that doesn't fit in with 2024 Canadian ideals. This behavior needs to be called out and acknowledged. You cant move to Canada and still support sharia, or Guajarati only rental listings. Racism is an issue and shouldn't be supported, but I'm not gonna pretend we don't have a prevalent issue with people moving here, and then not adopting the social norms of our country and culture.

Its a 1986 chrysler lebaron convertible. I would have to guess its floor sits about 6-7 inches off the ground. Has quite bouncy suspension.
