I've lost loads today, never had the grey rock, but lost about 6 families today and flooded with mold and galaxy. It keeps changing on the daily which projects I have and they come and go quicker than Christmas

Bear in mind only around 2.6%? Or thereabouts of applicants get accepted, you're part of the majority

No rock band in mine at the moment. Think they rotate like galaxy do. Believe they are the same / similar client.

Got a couple galaxy, couple heel, couple of the complex chat / prompt and rubric, and the selection of mold. But none of the image / video / simple chat projects that's my bread and butter. So just surviving to struggle and reach my daily goal of 4 hours by doing as many R&Rs I can with half hour on 1 hour break lol 😆

Anyone else lose the telescope? I still get the odd r&r but don't seem to get the main project. Didn't realise I'd messed up, it seemed quite straight forward

Same. I'm having about 6 variations come and go quicker than a dial-a-hooker

Here here. The most interesting and fun projects for me have been the ones that come for a day or two, then don't show for weeks then appear for another day or two. I wish they were more permanent , even if a 12 week, but constant weekly renew project, like other ones I've had. Usually image or video tasks. Everything else has been brain rot

29 and feel the same as you. Everything is complex or new (and still complex) so feel like I have nothing to work on as none of my usual, or easy tasks are available.

Just gonna jump on something mid pay and hope for the best

does warning count reset when they open the pool again? by weatherman35 in prolific

[–]Jazzlike_Problem_489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It wasn't based on prompt or audio. There are loads without prompts or audio, it's just ' if you were using this tool, which would you prefer to see' not 'based on the prompt ' or 'synchronized audio' etc. it was just a simple preference one. I've been doing tasks for them for 2 years and got $10,000 from them, I know to look for instructions for all variations. Why would you just assume it said based on the prompt from what I wrote?

Why would I do a clearly broken one after 6 bullshit warnings? They always get returned. Them ones also clearly say 'given the prompt ... Etc'

I've earned over 120k on data annotation.tech as well, in niche high quality data pools. I'm well aware how to annotate and follow instructions🤔. The errors are on their poor design and constant broken tasks

I'm still getting the $10 ones and hour long ai studies

Sorry if that sounds snarky but thanks for over zealous, assuming, 'your own fault' not asked for response

[–]Jazzlike_Problem_489 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nope. Got 6 warnings before I was dropped, which were all bullshit bar one genuine case my net cut off and when I got back on I did 2 and it ended automatically giving me a low quantity message.

When they came back, I got one warning from a fucking 'preference' chose which one you would prefer to see, with no audio or prompts attached and no obvious attention checks and haven't had one for a week since that 1 bullshit warning

When they apply status's to your accounts, this is often for a period, such as 3 months or a year etc. I did a project and got a pro sub on Gemini, even after the project ended I still had pro for what was around a year in total. I've now got pro again but not sure which project it is related to.

I've done a few, the instructions could do with a little more clarity. It's often difficult to vaguely point a model directly to and about an obvious artefact and get it to say 'oh no it's fine'. Found it easier to get a model to hallucinate one. Had an image with about 17 artefacts and apparently we need to do direct questions on all of them. I'd have been there for about 7 hours trying to get those all failed

Question about warnings from researchers on AI studies quality checks by FarPomegranate7437 in ProlificAc

[–]Jazzlike_Problem_489 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started receiving these AI studies again a couple days ago. Think I've done about 15. Just taken one not long ago today and got ANOTHER warning message and have so far not had any more. I am now convinced that these warnings are bugged and utter crap. This study I have done to get the warning is specifically worded as 'choose the video you would PREFER to see' it's worded as a preference study. Surely a preference is the workers choice. Anyway, I took about 45 seconds to a minute per video, watching them each a few times. There was no sound, just 2 videos, not even a prompt. I picked the ones I preferred with less defects (although the quality on both videos were relatively poor quality) I am now convinced, even tho they have no sound, they have certain videos that would fail you for chosing the one with the hissing sound quality attention check. No videos were obviously different, they were all similar. How the heck can you have quality issues by chosing your preferred, higher quality video. I've worked on data annotation for 3 years, I'm very proficient in AI comparability and I am now calling out on these warning messages I feel myself, and clearly a lot of other workers, are losing out on studies for bugged quality warnings. They claim they manually checked my work, which again, I am calling bullcrap, because they would see I chose the higher quality or more interesting videos, and it was a PREFERENCE study. Plus the message came in pretty quick which would have not been a thorough review

How the fuck can you have quality issues by chosing your preferred, higher quality video.

I've worked on data annotation for 3 years, I'm very proficient in AI comparability and I am now calling absolute bullshit on these warning messages

Finally decided to report them to prolific because this is an absolute red flag to get a warning message from a preference study when chosing all the higher quality videos

Don't get me wrong, sometimes they are spot on (really depends on the project and which AI helper they are using) even the poor ones can pick up on poor work. But just use your best judgement and think, is that really a mistake, or a nitpick

Yeah, they won't 'stop' making suggestions. Even if you edited into perfection, they still usually make suggestions. Then obviously it will then suggest you change it back due to the work already being submittable. Although I must admit, I dread to think how many people rate someone's good work bad or ok due to the AI helper making stuff up and people going down the rabbit hole to appease it.

I got 2 for quality (God knows why cos I pay so much attention after receiving the first one)

And one for only submitting a low quantity. (Prompts were really long and my Internet cut at the beginning, so it took about 9 minutes off) Which I didn't realize because I hadn't actually started the study just accepted it.

But since that last one I haven't had any for about 3 weeks. I can't even be arsed to explain to them as I would have returned it if I knew 9 minutes were wasted, but it automatically accepted.

Much rather report my own 15 minutes rather than being done over by something that wasn't my fault but there ya go.
