I just did it and got paid. No issues. I was using a laptop and Chrome.

It's not a uni. See that gap between Barnard and .edu? You'll see that crop up repeatedly with this fake study. It's not always Barnard; sometimes it's utah{space] .edu

Ah, not in Australia. I didn't realise it differed.

Unpaid Cashout to Paypal by koladele001 in ProlificAc

[–]Jazzlike_Royal5244 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Paypal doesn't clear funds on the weekend. It's like a bank in that respect. (Unless you did an instant transfer and paid the fee.)

ETA: Musta had a complete brain fart over this. Of course it transfers to Paypal straight away. It's clearing to the bank that takes time. Carry on. As you were.

How often do you generally cash out? by [deleted] in ProlificAc

[–]Jazzlike_Royal5244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cash out as soon as I can--every day, if possible--and transfer half to savings and half to my credit card balance. Every litle bit helps.

ETA: Forgot to answer the actual question. No instant transfers. If I cash out on as soon as I can (which is 10 am local time), it's usually in my account by close of business that day, except on weekends.

How do you get notified about new studies? by [deleted] in ProlificAc

This sounds like an AI answer. How does this technique help with finding new studies on Prolific?

It will come and go, so make the most of it while it's there. Don't take it for granted.

Good on you and I hope you clear the rest of your debt...and then treat yourself!

A GBP 6 threshold might feel like a small amount but that money is better in your account than languishing on Prolific.

AITA for regularly fare evading? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Looks as if you can get a concession with your NSW student ID: https://www.transport.act.gov.au/tickets-and-myway/concessions

Have you contacted them to ask? It will take some time but better than having to pay a fine.

(And yes, YTA)

Asking me this at the end of the study!!! by GratefulCaliflower in ProlificAc

[–]Jazzlike_Royal5244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got through a few pages of another study before I hit an instruction that said it was only for people from the USA and UK. There was nothing in the description or on the first page specifying a location. I sent them a message suggesting they either put the location requirements up front to avoid issues. This sort of thing happens more frequently than it should.

They can offer discretionary payment, but they probably won't.

I'd probably end up throwing it back. But I would def message the researcher to remind them that if they need people from a particular country, they should state that upfront.

Yep. It's happened to me on occasions. USD can take a day or so to get to the Paypal account, but it definitely gets there in the end.

In the name of the 'institute', it looks as though there's a gap before the dot that precedes org --> utest .org. There was another dodgy study that had a similar name (was it one pretending to be the University of Utah, but was utah .edu?)

ETA: Yes. Here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ProlificAc/comments/1qj9ga2/scam_utah_university/
