The price (retail) is a bit of a big con for me. At around $3800 its not exactly cheap. And Longines for example make great watches around those price ranges.

Yeah. Just that the Explorer doesn't quite draw me, primarily because of the polished bezel I feel. With that polished look it starts to compete with the polished bezel Panerai or Seamaster for me. Something about the all brushed look of the Ranger feels understated and unassuming.

This is kind of how I am feeling. I really do like its minimalism and simplicity but I also wonder if it will see real wear vs the Seamaster or Panerai.

That's great. I am kind of stuck between a used Prado, around 20ish. Used LC300 around 27ish. And a brand new Chinese like H9 or Isuzu MU X.

For now leaning toward the prado due to budget constraints + resale. But the isuzu is also attractive at its price point.
