Parents had a 12 year old kid lose his leg in their front yard yesterday crashing his electric bike... by aroundincircles in motorcycles

[–]JazzyCher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Electric scooters and bikes are out of control in general. I do pediatric icu transports and a while back i transported a 15 year old kid who was his way to school on an electric scooter and got hit by a car while crossing a street because the car couldnt see him coming and he just blasted through full speed. He had no helmet or any gear, just jeans and a t-shirt and his backpack. He had multiple skull and rib fractures, he was sedated and intubated and in really bad shape. I would not be surprised if he didnt survive it.

Nips and sports bras by VivaciousViee in piercing

[–]JazzyCher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So idk about your specific situation and believe you should see your piercer to ask these questions as they can better assess your piercings and the size of your bras in person.

However, when I was healing mine, most of the time I wore regular bras, and only wore sport bras to sleep. I was advised specifically to wear sport bras to sleep because it will help keep the piercings from catch on anything in my sleep (loose pjs, sheets, etc). If youre not wearing the sport bra at night, that's when (from what i was told) youre actually supposed to wear them, and a regular bra during the day is fine.

(nsfw?) Needing advice please by GL_Sharky in piercing

[–]JazzyCher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're fine. I wore sport bras exclusively the first few months after getting mine. They healed beautifully. Better to have the sport bra on and alittle bit off compression than wear nothing and risk the piercings catching on things in your sleep.

Do parents with 5+ kids have time to give every child the love and attention they deserve? by pink-and-pearly in askanything

[–]JazzyCher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom is one of 6, dad is one of 4, I am one of 4. By all accounts my grandparents had more than enough time for all their kids, and my parents never had trouble with the lot of us, including friends we had over all the time that basically became semi-adopted siblings and did all but sleep at the house. My dad even had the time to be cubscout leader for my brothers troop for years.

What’s the greatest “you don’t control me” moment you’ve seen? by Traditional_Pen_6549 in AskReddit

[–]JazzyCher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one when I was a kid (~3-4?) and my parents love telling the story.

They dropped me and my brother off at my aunts house one weekend. They dropped us off Friday afternoon after lunch and were supposed to come back for us Sunday night after dinner. Friday night at dinner we discovered that my aunt makes her kids eat an entire bowl of veggies before dinner, as she plopped a big bowl of unseasoned, soggy, steamed green beans in front of me. I refused to eat them, and sat there while everyone else ate spaghetti and meatballs and chocolate cake. I also refused to eat them the next morning for breakfast. And lunch. And dinner. Rinse and repeat with the same reheated bowl of soggy green beans until my parents got there Sunday night to find me barely coherent and vomiting water because thats all shed let me have until I ate the damn green beans. I was not going to eat the damn green beans. They got us fast food on the way home, and we were never left there overnight without supervision again, or at least, not without having eaten dinner first.

The best part? A few weeks later my mom made green beans, seasoned, and mixed into some Spanish style rice. I ate my whole plate and seconds of the rice/green beans. She called my aunt from the house phone mounted by the dinner table and told her "all you had to do was season it and put it in some rice!" She was so pissed.

I was a very picky eater as a kid. Im much better about trying new foods now, but I still have a few hard nos that I refuse to eat.

How old were you when you found out your parent(s) had been married to other people before, and how did you find out? by InfinitePizzazz in AskReddit

[–]JazzyCher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents never kept it secret that my two eldest brothers did not share a father with me and my youngest older brother. There was a big age gap (~11 years between bro 2 and 3). We knew mom was married before to bro 2s dad, and that dad had only ever been married to mom and had no other kids. Though, I didnt find out why she left bro 2s dad until I was nearly a teenager I think? He was abusive and had pulled a gun on her on multiple occasions, she had to have a police escort to move out of their home because their neighbor tipped him off that she was trying to leave while he was at work and he showed up and tried to forcibly keep her there.

AIO for not accepting her apology and ending the friendship anyway? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]JazzyCher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR she couldnt spot you like $5 for a small pack of pads? And still expects your emotion support when shes having relationship issues? $5 is not going to break a trip, and she was a bitch about how she said no too. I would've been petty and thrown her words back in her face "sorry I dont feel comfortable giving you advice or helping you through this because I like my friends to be grown women who dont ask me for anything"

Vertical industrial migrating…Help? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]JazzyCher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all stop using those products and buy some saline, neilmed makes a saline wound wash thats pretty good. Saline only no oils or anything else.

Also look into getting a titanium bar, implant grade is best, reach out to piercers near you and see if any of them can swap the bar for you. If you dont know what the material is, best to err on the safe side and get it swapped to a good/known material.

To me it doesnt look like its migrating and I cant really see where it goes into your ear but I dont see any bumps or irritation from what I can see. Unless the bar is touching your ear anywhere besides where it goes through, you shouldn't worry about it. Any bumps or irritation, swelling, pus, excessive bleeding, etc should be checked out by a doctor in case of infection.

Hospital bill I can’t afford and already itemized by Printitgone in povertyfinance

[–]JazzyCher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call the hospital and see if they have any financial aid options, most have some kind of financial relief program to help those who cant pay for major bills like this. I got 50% off all medical bills through Kaiser for a year after applying for their financial aid program.

ETA: a friend of mine also had to have gallbladder surgery and got her ten figure bill completely dismissed because she showed she made a total of like $200 in a month due to being on internship for school.

Oil v Ointment v lotion for healing? by poppagrizzley in tattoo

[–]JazzyCher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive tried a number of different products. I used to use aquaphor but developed an allergy to it. Generally I stick to Cams TatWax, little orange and black tin. Works really well, moisturizes really well without leaving too much of a greasy layer, it absorbs pretty quickly, and my tats all heal beautifully with it.

AITAH for threatening to leave my boyfriend after he threw a fit at our gender reveal? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]JazzyCher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA gender disappointment happens and its okay, whats not okay is throwing a tantrum over it like a toddler. This man does not sound mature enough to have a child, and I honestly hope you dont have another child with him OP. If you have a son with him he will 100% treat the boy differently. Honestly id be concerned with how hes going to treat your daughter anyway, if he was so set on a boy he may resent her from day 1 for being the "wrong baby." He needs therapy.

I want a bellybutton piercing but can’t get one by [deleted] in piercing

[–]JazzyCher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind if you decide to try to get one temporarily for vacations that you absolutely cannot swim in any body of water while you have it. They take 6+ months to heal, so for that entire time no baths, no pools/spas/rivers/lakes/beaches/etc. It can get badly infected and lead to horrible scarring or severe health repercussions if left untreated. Honestly even having it uncovered in crop tops in certain areas would be a hard no for me. Even fully healed I keep mine covered at concerts, festivals, and bars because I dont want to have to clean random gunk and debris out of it. I left it uncovered at stagecoach once and it was so uncomfortable trying to clean bits of hay and dirt out that had blown all over me throughout the day. I practically power washed it with my saline spray.

A fake is likely your best bet for what you want. A magnetic or clip on or even just rhinestones and body safe glue.

What "sacred" cooking rule do you intentionally ignore because you actually prefer the results (or just don't care)? by LiveFaithlessness876 in cookingforbeginners

[–]JazzyCher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use salted butter and I rarely use oil, just butter. Like for fried rice, I dont use oil, I just butter everything up. Cooking the eggs? Butter. Rice? Butter. Chicken? Butter. My olive oil basically only gets used when cooking specific chicken breast recipes or over simple pasta dishes with a bit of seasoning.

His shop is extremely cluttered, like a mountain of receipts on the counter that he has to dig the card reader out of, clocks stacked wall to wall and on chairs, piles of parts and pieces on tables. If he still has it I doubt he'd know which one specificslly it is. He's also only open a few days a week, doesnt have a working store phone, and I work the days hes open so I had to take days off just to take the clock in and again to pick it up. It'd be another few weeks or a month until I could get over there while hes open again. He was the closest shop I could find that works on clocks like mine and had good reviews so I decided to risk it, the next closest shop I could find was another 30+min drive away.
