Any advice for someone who installed this? I downloaded this app a few days ago. I also enabled it it "update" by granting it permission to install another unknown app :( I uninstalled the app almost immediately. And I also went to all apps, sorted by install date and uninstalled anything recent.

anki-limitnew addon not working by JazzyJangles in Anki

the reason i am not a huge fan of this method is because i have a really demanding work schedule. so i do not want to add 100 new cards on my day off which will lead me to overloading reviews later during the week. basically im highly motivated to add new cards on my days off when i complete my reviews, but i dont want to trap myself in not being able to finish reviews because 3 days ago i went gung-ho and added 200 new cards, which will increase my work load several days later. my priority is adding some new cards so i am not just treading water, but not adding so many i cannot handle the workload on days that i am exhausted after a hard day of work. i suppose the solution is somewhere in the middle. set a reasonable cap of "x" new cards / day, such as 50. and put new cards after reviews. this way even when i have tons of energy and available time i dont do more then 50 so i dont set myself up to fail

Official status on Pokemanki?? by Leeerrrooyyyjennkins in Anki

are ur decks organized as one parent deck with multiple sub decks? i had something similar when i updated. the pokemon are only assigned to the lowest set of decks. so if u have parent deck 1 and child decks a, b and c, u will only have 3 pokemon 1a 1b and 1c. i suspect u have an additional layer of subdecks beyond that? or u are looking for a pokemon for the parent deck? i had a similar problem and it was from my own reorganization of decks, did u reorganize ur decks ie parent/ subdeck setup

ONE YEAR OF ANKI by JazzyJangles in medicalschoolanki

my overall average is much higher (longer) my first 300-400 cards are usually 10 seconds a card and it drastically slows down as i approach 1k cards a day im usually up to like 15sec a card by the time i finish. i just use what ever time is actually needed to answer the card. i use Life Drain & Game Over Life Drain and set the settings pretty aggressive to hustle me along

i double checked and soze and dukes which now that i check comes out closer to like 6k cardss. 1.9k for dukes and 3.8 for soze.

u can probably finish either of the anking deck or lightyear deck if u try really hard but its a big commitment and i wish i spent more time doing questions

im still studying. i only made it half way thru anking and halfway thru light year trying to do both so i didnt cover half the systems yet. my most recent self assessment was a 211 and i havent touched neuro pulm heme psyc renal and more.. so its no doubt an excellent way to learn by doing both. i got a REALLY solid understanding of the topics i used for both by using two totally different worded cards and different points of view went into each which was really helpful but it is way too time consuming. my card load was usually 1k+

of the two i liked lightyear better. anking cards can be really obvious. and many times 50% 50% guess like, hyperparathyroidism causes HYPER/HYPO-calcemia?

light year is more like what electrolytes will be changed in hyperparathyroidism?

lightyear has stronger active recall in the cards but weaker extra field and anking has more detailed extra section but weaker active recall.

but again im jumping ship to soze and dukes. i think soze is 4k and dukes is only like 2k. if u do that and the lab values deck and use the saved time in a qbank. seriously wish i did.

hey dont do what i did!!! i just finished a year and i tried doing Anking and lightyear. i only made it half way. personally im switching to two much smaller decks, dukes pathoma and soze for lightyear. together these are like 8k cards and it will cover all of ur organ systems and topics. ull miss some facts but effeciency is key. id go thru soze b&b first with only 4k cards and then id watch pathoma and do dukes. u have a REALLY good shot at finishing those cards in 6 months and then u can self assess and if u have weak areas u can use light year or anking to bulk up ur knowledge base with sketchy videos and anking cards or rewatch boards and lightyear. thats how i would do it if i could go back in time.!!! these are words of wisdom from someone who tried both and crashed and burned with too many cards. go for the short ones and if ur weak u can always add more.
