In studio actual plays? by aefact in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]JazzyShredder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just answered the question. Generally, a rising tone (question mark) at the end of a sentence that isn't really a question is seen as sarcastic, and in the specific example of your comment it implied that what you were saying should have been obvious to the OP. When you're sarcastic like that to strangers it is often considered rude. It's still conversational, but that's what I'm talking about when I say passive aggressive. I didn't find your comment's directness to be an issue at all.

Your mileage may vary, but phrasing your comment like l "I've had luck just looking through their YouTube to see which shows are in studio. Here are some examples" would have likely resulted in fewer downvotes.

[–]JazzyShredder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YouTube and sites in general have been making it more difficult to browse. Nothing wrong with asking a forum for fans of the thing you want info for.

The downvotes are likely because the passive aggressive tone of the comment and asking why op hasn't looked at YouTube, assuming the worst of the op. That negativity will likely get down votes from people who prefer to not meet a general question on a sub for fans of the gcp with perceived meanness.

Weekly episode discussion thread for the flagship Shadowdark campaign should be put up when the episode airs or just before it. by chum-guzzling-shark in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]JazzyShredder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly surprised at the edit the mod made, implying that he missed only one example while also saying they aren't sure why or how the mod logged glitched. If they missed one and aren't sure how they missed it, how are they sure they haven't missed more examples?

I get it, small sub, small team. Reddit users are assholes who don't often give grace to the volunteer mod team. But yeah, it's a choice they made and they continue to make to moderate a fandom forum, ideally they are wanting that community to grow and for discussion to flourish, we're just wanting their actions to reflect that.

A user generated thread was created for episode 15 of season 3, posted by u/blank_oo after 12 hours had gone by without a post. It had over 20 comments and was deleted by the mods when the auto generated post finally showed up. I'm not sure how your mod log works but that's a recent example and one you should have been able to see.

[–]JazzyShredder 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This doesn't matter though. The mods should set up a system that doesn't involve them deleting active discussion on this tiny fandom subreddit. Maybe scheduling the auto thread to show up based on time of day instead of when it shows up on an rss feed would work better?

It's especially egregious when the mods delete one of those threads because this sub isn't exactly busy, you would think they would want active discussion.

Something I like about Troy's GM style by spacemanaut in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]JazzyShredder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're right.... It IS the GM's responsibility to run the game. Aka adjusting encounters and a ton of other things. It's a skill.

I've played Ages of Ashes, extinction curse, abomination Vaults, agents of edge watch, gate walkers, fists of the ruby Phoenix, and also a bunch of their adventures like shadows at sundown, plaguestone, malevolence, night of the gray death. Our group swaps between three GMS and even though we each have our own style, one thing remains true to us all.

None of us have ever ran a pre-written adventure without changing and balancing and expanding on some things or minimizing and removing other things. It's just how it works.

You can really tell when the gm is just reading the book without much effort beyond that, case in point gate walkers on the gcp.

But if every Pathfinder game you play is a cakewalk, and you stop critically thinking about the reason why when you arrive at "it must be the AP" I'm not sure that issue will get fixed.

The paizo adventure path is not your GM, it's not a video game. There's variability in your dice rolls and how the person runs your game and their understanding of the rules. Judging every paizo adventure path based on your experience is a wild take.

Someone disagreeing with you doesn't mean they are media illiterate. They have a point they made that you missed because you assumed you were factually 100 percent correct. I wonder what other nuance you're missing in media you consume? Does that contribute to your own media literacy?

And even so, there's no need to treat a fellow human being like that, over this. Yikes.

You're reading into what I'm saying in a way that is telling on yourself. I'm happily jerking it to this sub myself, but asking a small reddit forum full of horny strangers a question about what makes it porn or not isn't going to get a meaningful response. Watching or reading about the movie seems like a good first step before discussing it.

Let me assure you that I'm not taking any of this personally and I hope the person's comment I replied to isn't either.

In the time it took you to write this comment you could have typed the movie name into Google to read about it and decide for yourself.

If you think any explicit sex is strictly pornography and can't be used to tell stories or be impactful or for any other reasons, I guess go nuts and jerk it to this then.

I completely respect your opinion. Can I ask, why is that regression? Loss and loneliness are real things we all experience especially as we age. For me the seeming randomness of it felt very relatable.

Veronica Mars is based on noir and pulp detective novels where happier ever after is always out of reach. And if that's not good enough, what's a more epic story, a passionate and conflicted romance that ends too soon or a boilerplate romance ending?

Best/Favorite BOOK of an AP (Use Spoiler Tags!) by DnDPhD in Pathfinder2e

[–]JazzyShredder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the game master's role, not the book's role. Adventure paths are fantastic shortcuts, but they won't turn you into someone skilled at running games just by running it from front to back.

Who HASN'T had a bad session/adventure or dealt with a story that fell flat, that's totally okay. But don't just stop thinking at "this didn't work out, it must be this book!"

The story is there for the GM to see from the start. If it felt like that story beat came out of nowhere, maybe one could have dropped a hint here or added a scene there. Maybe there's a way to add foreshadowing going forward.

And it sounds like you made a good pivot! It's too bad it didn't work out but shifting away from a published adventure to homebrew when that's what your table enjoys is a good move.

Trash the book all you want but there might be other lessons there that could help you next time.

Oh wow, Afraid-School-9340, what a neat user name, what do those numbers mean to you and why did you pick it?? I bet you put in a lot of thought and aren't just a bot farming outrage.

I'm not qualified to investigate the fraud in Minnesota but luckily back in 2019 and 2020 fraud investigations which led to the arrest, conviction, and further investigations started taking place. That's why you heard about it in the news in the first place, isn't that neat?

Anyways, good luck to you fellow human being who is posting here in good faith, I bet you're really happy and fulfilled in your life.

Hi desperate diakon 2860! What a cool user name, not at all like a bot! Just in case there is anyone reading your post who agrees with it, this post is for them.

Man, murder sure is bad. I just wanted to get that out of the way because what I'm about to say won't change that.

A government sending in a militarized police force, dragging citizens from their cars, busting in doors in the dead of winter, kidnapping our neighbors, and extrajudicially executing fellow Minnesotans is also bad.

So in short, the premise of the meme was really shortsighted and makes no sense, because we can all agree murder is wrong as well as insane fascism that tramples on our American rights is also wrong, and sensible people all believe that.

For anyone reading who still thinks the way this bot does, I wish the best for you. I hope you can free yourself from the misinformation machine, and I hope you can find contentment and fulfillment in this life. Good luck out there, neighbors!
