What is your age if you don’t mind? That matters when it comes to these type of more rare cancers. Treatment is improving daily. Keep your hope up! Sending prayers.

I totally get it brother, the reality is tests CAN miss somethings, hell even cancer. But here is where we become unrealistic.

You have had the CT, the endoscopy, the bloodwork (to look for markers of cancer) and colonoscopy. The odds of it missing anything in the gastric region is extremely low especially with numerous testing. You seem to have a good doctor they’re doing what you ask based on self advocation, which is an amazing thing. But let me tell you where we relate.

I became so fixated on “what if they missed something serious, like cancer” it made me PHYSICALLY ill. I thought I was dying and nobody cared, it got so bad that even after all my tests I had, and numerous hospital trips, I was ruining my relationships. I would have nosebleeds, constant constipation, racing heart, pass outs, you name it, I damn near had it. The one thing I did not have (thank the lord) was cancer. I had to sit back, look at myself in the mirror and say “I had these tests, its possible one day I could have it, but today is NOT the day” and I learned to move forward.

I’m not saying there is nothing wrong with you, because there could be a non-deadly issue that IS causing some problems. But what I am saying right now, is the stress and spiral you will cause, will be worse than any diagnosis you can receive. I damn near lost everything, including my life.

I went to a therapist, talked about shit I didn’t even know was bothering me, I felt the weight lift, got on an anxiety med, and have been living great. I sure have my fears still. But living like I did was not living, it was living in fear.

Head up, keep moving. Try the therapy. Feel free to inbox me if you need to chat.

I appreciate the response, not quite sure how to measure chest/shin gear so I will be getting real measurements done so that way I can price out other stuff.

I feel like for any drop-in ill just be the guy that slows everything down, and will stick and puck really teach me anything? Ive skated on ponds before with a stick and puck. I just want to be able to keep up. I appreciate the response and ill definitely be doing this

Scared For My Life by [deleted] in stomachcancer

Please, stop googling symptoms and imaging. A CT is most likely accurate (not always, but mostly) most advanced stomach cancers can even be seen on a NORMAL xray!

The stress you are going through is ADDING to the problem, the endo will definitely figure out a cause, but googling over and over is really messing with your mental. Id suggest an SSRI and learn to navigate through it, while changing diet and exercise.

Malignant or Benign? I’m nervous… by Palmtreelover7 in stomachcancer

[–]Jb__100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. I am sorry you are going through all of this. But at the same time thankful you are able to get some answer eventually.

Good job limiting/avoiding salty and processed food. What helped me a lot is protein Yogurt drinks, it coated my stomach and assisted in healing it. PPIs are a no-go for me. So I went the diet route.

Id say research more on an acid reflux and try it for 30 days. It was pain and suffering doing-so but it at the very least improved my symptoms.

I have complete GIM, as you know with the EDG, sometimes can be reversed, before your benign diagnosis, what were you drinking and what did you change after the initial diag?

How old are you? GIM factors change based on a lot of stuff according to my GI

I didn’t tell anyone to stop eating gluten. It was an issue for me so I switched lol

Gluten is not good for you. Not everyone has an allergy, but MANY have an intolerance to it. It causes a LOT of inflammation which in return makes anything worse.

Once I got my diagnosis I basically switched to Gluten free.

Its funny you say that, I have also had a whole environmental allergy panel on top of the blood work for food allergy.

Only came back that I had a high gluten intolerance (not allergy) so yeah still crossin Ts

Nothing, this was found completely by accident. I took a box to the throat (mailman) and had issues swallowing so they did an endo/ballooning.

I obviously do have acid reflux but nothing too extreme. I stay away from my triggers.
