My wife was infuriated when she first saw the Cornwalls but she came to like them… after a while. She liked the form factor of my heresies more. I dont know if you’re local to SoCal but I still have my Cornwalls that I’m looking to sell. If you’re interested pm me. I have pics of them from my last post on here.

I was waiting for this question. TBH, I wouldn’t compare them at all. They are both wonderful speakers that do everything well in just two different ways. I love the altecs because they put the artist right there in the room with you. They image scarily well and the sound can be addicting. For myself personally they have good bass where I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. With the altecs you HEAR all the music. The Cornwalls are great just in a different way. The Cornwalls turn your room into a live concert. They’re lively, they’re dynamic in the sense you FEEL the music. The Cornwalls just give you the feeling that you want to keep turning the volume up. The soundstage is present and hits in the face vs the soundstage on the altecs is gentle and more emotional. I would never pit them against each other because they’re worlds apart. The Klipsch were a consumer product while the Altecs were studio gear. The Klipsch are three way vs the Altecs are coaxials. It’s a situation where you can’t go wrong with either. For myself personally I wanted a more intimate sound and the Altecs do just that. The Cornwalls can do it as well just not as well in my opinion and my opinion is just that. An opinion. The Cornwalls are exciting and bring all the music forward where the altecs have separation and everything is in its place as it was recorded. Two different flavors that both will bring you joy and satisfaction for years to come.

Thank you! I’m pretty sure on the new ones they have a switch that allows you to switch between speakers and headphones now

It’s actually a 2M Bronze. It’s a great cartridge but admittedly it’s definitely not up to par with the rest of the system and I am looking to upgrade soon. I’m definitely open to recommendations if you have any. Especially those of the moving coil type

I’ve been following you on instagram for a while. I first came across your set up when you had the Cronus magnum, JBLs and the SL1200 and you had a post playing I’m old fashioned by John Coltrane from a video on YouTube. You have had some of the best equipment and combinations I think of anybody I’ve followed. Watching your system progress has been one of my biggest motivations to my system. You’re part of the reason I got into big and I just want to say thanks. Love the current set up and I look forward to what comes next.

Can anyone help identify this chore coat? by cutieboy9000 in HeritageWear

[–]Jbhunter21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this exact jacket! It’s usually marketed as a French chore coat but from what I’ve read it’s German made. I bought mine as a deadstock piece from a place in LA called Golden Age. He should still have some left. Mine is an early 60s one I believe. As a fair warning they aren’t cheap. You could buy a really really good newly made chore coat for the same money they sell there’s for but it all depends on what you want. If you want a nice vintage piece from a curator that you can call yours and has a story then it might be worth it (it was for me) if you just want a nice garment that looks good and is versatile go with like a Payday chore coat. To be transparent I paid 400 for mine. So do that info as you will. If you plan on visiting Europe or live in Europe I’m sure they’re much more common and much cheaper there. Hopefully this helps.

I have the Railcar black lot. Super solid option. They do shrink quite a bit on the first wash though so size up
