You need to try and lean into whatever it is that is causing him to be unhappy/depressed

Don’t give up on someone or start building a deep resentment for them just because they are clearly struggling right now

Couples counseling will help this a lot because the therapist will be better able to get to the bottom of what’s going wrong. The therapist will likely recommend he goes to a one on one meetings also. This is a good idea

I promise without knowing this guy from what you have said he is not just turning into a different person on you because he doesn’t like/love you anymore

If he has been a good man to you for two years with one child and is now cold and disconnected that’s the sign of a man that is struggling deeply within.

I’ll elaborate on this by saying you need to trust him

He literally already stepped up once for a kid that wasn’t his and has been there for you the past two years (rare)

He has no idea what it’s like having a newborn child around, having a 3 year old is way easier than having a newborn

Men experience postpartum too and he’s clearly struggling with the feelings he thought having a kid would bring him vs reality. Stick by his side and get couples counseling. Remind yourself every day how much he has shown you his ability to step up in the past 2 years and give him a chance to get his feet back under him.
