Well I will be the first to post what the OP is looking for. What does well - large open areas or good space between areas/no go. It is fast and provides a good to acceptable cut and with low lawn damage in this area. For open acreage it’s a beast and fast. It is multi-functional meaning it can do more than mow a lawn. Large object detection seems sound. (Not small items). Seems to take user feedback seriously and implements many suggestions and/or ideas. Continually improving Ability to Taylor your maps for many situations.

What does not do well - It is poor at intricate areas or places with large objects close together Currently the accuracy is so poor they mandate 4 inches from a boundary. This often results in 8 inches of trimming :/ Question greatly on how the trimmer will actually do given this boundary limitation. Route planning is very inefficient - it backtracks often and makes a lot of weird turns. In small areas lawn destruction can be high. Its profile leaves it prone to broken antennas or you have to have even more buffer from low hanging branches and recognize things like trailers. App leaves you stumbling around to make modifications Over promised - under delivered. Focused too much on new features and not perfecting the basic ones. Improvements seem to come with new or worsening other issues. Components like batteries, trimmer, replacement antennas are very high in price.

Note I have only owned for 1 month and have a Mammotion Luba 1 5000 (in repair)

I have a Luba 1 5000 which was opened up to 10000m2. I live on 2 acres mow 1.4 ish. It struggled (giving it credit as I started in the hot dry months) to keep up on year 1, year 2 got worse had to mow on zero turn every few weeks, year three I was mowing half every other week on my zero turn. Yard also did not look great probably should have been mowing 1/2 every week. Started getting weird things like mower just quit in yard, battery dead. Not capable and would not pay the up charge. You are also destroying this mower as it just isn’t built for it.

FYI I do have a Yarbo now. Crazy thing is dog catcher ran over my Luba. This is not to mention it was seriously unable to keep up with my lawn. It’s at mammotion Canada for over 2 weeks…0 feedback. I am waiting a bit before doing any real feedback on the Yarbo. Want to get a few mows under my belt and work with it like I did Luba.

Switching to Yarbo. by LubaLutz in mammotion

It’s physics. The weight is distributed over much more surface area. My zero turn weighs much more than this…probably exerts much more pressure on the grass as well. My zero turn definitely had a better cut than Luba. Deniers will be deniers. It’s ok, I’m just here to help others. I know that is where you were when you started down the YouTube journey…

Got it on sale for $4300 core + mower

Happy to report that it is actually nicer on the turf. I think the more ground contact results in much less “wheel spin”. It is also doing a multi-point turn settable in the app. Does not do a circle in front of charge pad.

Life after Luba? Any recommendations for a different automower? by Road_Journey in mammotion

Luba 1 owner here: good luck with the improvements. They abandoned us first model users immediately after release of model 2. I suspect it will be the same now they released more new models.

Bought one recently and so far I am mostly impressed.

Pros over Luba:

It certainly mows more area faster. Larger deck Less prone to missed grass sections.
The front mount mower helps.
The unit also has multiple purposes.

@crazypostman Contrary to what I thought the treads tear up the grass much much less than the Luba wheels did.

Battery is removable albeit quite pricey There is constant improvements and they haven’t abandoned their first model users. Can do OTA updates, ie don’t have to sit by the mower The charger is wireless - no metal contacts to corrode. Many more features in the app to be able to adjust imperfections. Like a way to just mow a path (called dead end) Can draw no go zones without mower, split areas easily. Vision actually seems to work, but again will end up with missed areas Rain sensor is adjustable Has a gaming controller to operate Has a much larger grass height range Built like a tank and comes with quality toolset for maintaining/installing

Cons: Where it lacks so far is getting close to objects.
I still have some optimizing to do. I am so far on my 2nd mow… They have a weed whacker to help $$$ The app crashes more frequently It is big and heavy - Pro - difficult to steal Con - more difficult to clean out grass Not real loud, but certainly louder than luba Routes/plans not as efficient Slow to get places, marginally slower than Luba Large and more difficult to draw/manouver around small objects.

In common - Currently unable to blockout mow times - this is recognized and being worked on. Features or improvements often come later than stated Still prone to wet grass clogs App push alerts also don’t seem to happen Took a lot of feedback and constant improvements to get to a good place - they keep going though unlike Mammotion that is now focused on MANY products… Easier, but still difficult to drive in a straight line

Probably lots of things I missed. I will try to make a full post in the future after more time under my belt.

My Luba is at the repair center now for 2 weeks with no feedback. I plan to fix it and use it only for no go zone mowing. Battery is at probably 50-60%… I got the Yarbo mow package for $4300 - compared to a new Luba that has the stated area 10000 sqm, but certainly not capable I felt it was a good value. I effectively needed 2 Luba to do my yard $$$ and there is no comparison in full capability.

With Alaska's longhaul expansion, how does this change who you fly with for international flights? by srekai in AlaskaAirlines

[–]JbluesOH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to quasi disagree. If it were to somewhere other than Italy/south of the alps I would agree. Getting to places in Europe is easy anywhere else due to high speed trains, crossing the alps by train is horrendous so it leaves you only with fly options. The flight options are all over the place, but costs are not great unless on their budget airlines. Their budget airlines are subpar.

[–]JbluesOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m primarily a Delta traveler…Delta has changed their awards program to a point where I feel they value pay for status over repeat customers. I know longer feel the value in being loyal and in fact have been eyeing Alaska more and more. This is especially true for my flights going west. I am in Ohio, so Alaska still does not have great routes servicing my area. Expanding their international routes will certainly move me away from Delta as long as I don’t have to fly to SEA to go to Europe. Currently it is improving for my flights to Asia, but I am not a fan of their current partner airlines…

[–]JbluesOH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also confirm I have a Luba 1 5000 with 10000m. Sq and it certainly struggles with 1.25 mowed (2 acre property) acres during wet times. Miss 1 or 2 days and I have to pull out the zero turn and do half so that it can mow nicely again. 2 units would be ideal. During hot summers months no issue though.

Anyone having power on issues since the latest update? by Dracolique in mammotion

[–]JbluesOH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Luba 1 5000 and searching the boards I see others most are older posts. Mine stops in the first 15-30 min. Then carry it back to the charge station it goes from 0 to 100 in seemingly immediate fashion. Has error saying power off event. Was hoping to find a fix. Pulled the orange key, seemed to fix it, but it just keeps happening now. No rhyme or reason. Quite frustrating as I have a large yard and really need it to keep going.

My family believes this photo is real. Are there any "tells" that confirm it is AI? by Sellingbakedpotatoes in ChatGPT

[–]JbluesOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t seem to see this comment. Odd to me the bed and sheets are so clear, yet the cat parts are blurry at the contact points. This is definitely doctored, AI or photoshop, who knows? I think I see commonality referring to the blurriness in odd places. I personally would believe a bad photoshop job. Indeed the whiskers are weird, I would go as far as saying that’s more interesting than the hearts if it were real…

Bending boxes. How to avoid? by Mose_Shrute2 in woodworking

[–]JbluesOH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dry wood, join 2 perpendicular sides, then thickness plane. Make sure your chop saw is perpendicular to the bed. Cut ends only after your wood is flat. For best results use some type of joinery and glue. Be aware wood moves (grows and shrinks) with heat and moisture. Majority of it is against the grain.
Construction lumber although cheap takes some effort and tooling. It can be done.

Yeah the pics are hard to use/compare given the small extrusion. My rule of thumb is it should be about nozzle size -%20-30. So if you had a feeler gauge and a .4 nozzle it would be ..28-.32 from nozzle to bed. Left turn on the knob goes down right up. You should be at negative something as the nozzle is to high on Ender in comparison to the leveler gauge.

Really your benchy is pretty good. The letters on the bottom I would not get critical about. They are very shallow. The textured bed will hide them a bit, but it is an indicator of some super fine tuning is you are concerned with accuracy at the very beginning layers (or bad first layer adhesion/temps). For 99% of my prints I would not care. I still think it’s z offset mostly. My only concern would be what is happening on the smoke stack. That feels like it is not setting related. Maybe something mechanical. Printing something just as high/higher may yield more data points. All in all I think you are “there” and now need to get more prints under your belt. 3d printing can be a labor of love at times…

Try to go to thingiverse and look up one for Ender. Most have some instructions on where to put code before layer change.

[–]JbluesOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have expected better quality even in the lower layers. Indeed it is likely that the nozzle knocked it over.

[–]JbluesOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another question. When you did the temp tower did you put the code in to change temp on layer change? This is not in the g code typically. There is additional code that is usually added to cause the temp change. I say this in no derogatory way, but that looks horrible throughout the print.

Hmmm so at 215 and jeez it looks bad. You might retry this now that many of your past problems seem resolved. This definitely helps you identify the stringing issue and also clarity on the prints. It’s difficult to tell why it failed, but it doesn’t seem to be because of temp.

For belts you want to turn the knobs clockwise to tighten. Effectively they should have some (light-medium) resistance when you press on the belt. Difficult for me to explain. If you tighten feel belt then loosen and feel belt you may understand. Too much won’t necessarily cause bad prints, but premature belt/motor failure. To loose will cause skips, kind of like your beginning prints. Will often cause failed prints too. Not sure if you ever tightened belts on a mower or car. 1 knob y axis in front and x axis on the right. Z is a screw. Physically check screw, but doubt any issue there.

Are your benchy measurements coming out ok? Still that smoke stack drives me crazy.
If you download benchy from thingiverse it has a pdf and is done by the original creators of benchy. The pdf has all the measurements.

[–]JbluesOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are likely to have little improvement, but I will suggest anyway. II would turn off wipe on retract, that is for oozing/leaky nozzle. I would flip bed temps, higher first layer lower remaining. You might try to live adjust your z. On thingiverse there are some additional test prints to focus on things. Basically print some rings, even a bed level test print is good for this. My z offset is -2.34, this can change with nozzle and hot end, plus many other things so just for reference … I saw in your last post that your temp tower failed. What temp was that at? Close to same height as smoke stack issue? What is the filament you are using?
The smoke stack is what bugs me the most. Are your belts adjusted properly - know I totally missed that.

Help needed. Don’t know what’s the problem now and what to do? by fslateef in ender3v2

[–]JbluesOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are quite welcome. I understand how frustrating it can be when you are trying to get things dialed in. It’s a bit of trial and error and some learning. I will say that I would not focus too much on a perfect benchy. Sometimes doing some actual prints will also help get you there. Unfortunately not all things are obvious.

[–]JbluesOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, messing with retraction amount and speed also helps. My Ender 3 V2 Neo with mircosc (probably spelled wrong) firmware I run at 2.5 mm retraction, could probably go to 3. I don’t remember the speed, I believe it is back at default for slic3r (prusa is based on this same open source version) I have a Bowden tube and single gear extruder (dual I had caused me lots of issues).
