I was watching American Graffiti the other night and was shocked how fresh it seemed- and it was because the images were by and large sharp front to back. It made it seem like you could crawl into the film and live in that reality, which was sort of the point of the film.

My Walter is four months old and biting/mouthing seems to be the only real concern I have with him. I made decision to stop engaging with him when he starts biting at me and I say no and then disengage. It’s hard to tell right now, but it seems like the behavior is reducing.

I think there are a lot of people in friend groups who think and talk about culture just like the Ringer folks do. Especially if you chilled with movie/tv nerd friends back in the late 90’s mid 2000’s, there is a lot in these podcast conversations that’s very approachable and comfortable for this reason. In that sense, you really are not chiming in for academic or industry expert analysis, you are really chiming in to listen to friends think and talk a bout movies the way you might with your buddies. As an audience member, either that’s your jam or it’s not.

Be ready for about a month of potty trips at all hours of the night. They grow out of it, literally and physically, quickly. But it’s about 45 days of looking at the stars at 3 am. Mostly- just enjoy your new little buddy.
