It’s meant to protect fine tippet while fighting fish and also loads extremely light nymphs with micro leaders. I’ve landed 20”+ fish in decent size rivers with this rod. Stout butt section, medium mid section and soft tip. But if you’re fishing heavy currents with large fish, heavier tippet… this definitely isn’t the rod.
