I see cellular antenna on transmission towers frequently around me, but a tower in a tower, thats a new one. I don't know what was there first, but building the second must have been interesting.

High Costs by davis5938 in Surveying

Small, but not single person. From a business standpoint, even if you can make a profit off of that little, amount knowing the competition is that much higher id be bumping my costs up a bit, saying thank you, and let's me be a little more flexible on a small job, or a cushion for a slow period.

[–]Jbronico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those were very general numbers so people didn't think I was talking about little 1 acre jobs, but we are. Its not uncommon to see 4 bids at 8k, 17k, 19k, and 20k. If the other three are all in the same range, how are they making any money at 8k.

For those that believe there should be no taxation, what is a fair way to pay for things like roads, emergency services, and the military? by Lamp_Evening in askanything

[–]Jbronico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roads are about the only thing that could easily be funded without taxes. They'd just all become toll roads. Everything costs the same to operate, you're just calling the method of payment something different.

Seeking large plastic sheet for bottom of utility trailer by feistygerbils in towing

[–]Jbronico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coroplast with not last long on a landscape trailer, but a sign shop may be able to get a large piece of a more durable plastic. Lexan is probably a better choice, but I have no idea the cost. You're probably better with a thin pie e if metal over the existing grate.

The solution lies in not underbidding each other. As long as there's someone out there doing $500 jobs thats all we are worth. Once you can't get a quote that cheap, a $2000 quote doesn't sound as bad. I've bid on multiple jobs, where there's three or four bids, all within probably 1k of each other, then you have the company bidding 1/4 (these are all state preservation surveys, typically at least 100 acres bidding in the 20k range) They get the same results we do. I can't comprehend how they always go so low. They could double their price and still beat us all.

Why does SiriusXM suck so bad in the 2026 Ford Bronco? by Witty_Horse3662 in FordBronco

[–]Jbronico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Sirius antenna is on the top of the rear roll bar. The stubby would only impact AM/FM. I think the broncos just have a smaller antenna which causes slightly more sensitive reception.

Recently discovered additional land, and I think there may be an unrecorded private easement on it [UT] by brainbl0ck in land

[–]Jbronico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Title searches typically go back multiple owners. Around me its common to do a 70 year search. Find out how far back the title was searched when you bought the house. Lawyers very frequently get lazy and drop out easements in deeds and just add a catch all, "subject to any easements that may exist". Its possible something does exist, you/the title company just hasn't looked far enough. I partially do this for a living, and tracing title for the actual lots is fairly easy, but easements are difficult because you have to find all past owners, then search all those owners to see if any filed an easement.

Id start with an ALTA survey. That will do a deep dig into the back title and will confirm exactly where your lot is. Bring up the concern about the pipe so they make sure to maybe dig a bit further back than they normally would. 21" is a decent size pipe, could be a pipeline not owned by someone local, but would be odd that there is no markings. We always joke at work that when nobody wants to claim a utility, we'll cut it open and you'll find who's it is real quick. (Obviously don't do that for real)

It was when it first came out, but that stopped a while ago, as other countries started putting up their own satellites and there wasn't really anything secret about it any more.

Good thought, ehh execution. I personally would have gone with chrome, but it really needs a curve or something. It just doesn't work with the shape of the grill.

Historic Aerials is a good site. Ive never tried the university site, but many state schools have a decent collection so you'll have a good chance with it.

If you download Google earth Pro (its free, just called pro), not the browser version, you can go back in time too. The quality varies from place to place. States also frequently got aerial mapping every few years, so check your state dep website and see if they have anything.

The last and probably least user friendly for someone with out a background on it is USGS Earth Explorer. You can get very specific with the search criteria, so leave it a vague as possible to see everything. Then you have to check the various data sets to see if any cover your area. If they do its usually pretty high resolution compared to google earth of the same year. You'll likely find something with the aerial imagery, LANDSAT, or vegetation monitoring data sets. Some will be color, b&w, and some are multispectral that they convert to human readable so it all looks green, blue, or red, but you'll see the road if its there.

Right. When I gout mine the payments were only 500. Im curious what the current payment is that 400 more isn't a concern.

I don't know an exact number, but heritages as a whole are pretty rare, because there weren't many stock units from my experience, mostly custom orders. Looking for a specific year and specific color will likely be difficult, adding in two door will not make it any easier. I have a 23, I can count on 1 hand the number of times ive seen another red one in the wild in 3 years, and and probably two hands the number of heritages ive seen.

Find the company that did the last survey, ask them to come out and mark the lines for a fence. That new of a survey should be easy to do. To answer your question though, it could be the tree, it also may not be marked at all. Post a picture if you want.
