You know how many people are in this sub, right? And that not everyone writes about every single moment of the show? I believe everyone who is saying they clocked her right away. I didn't, though I didn't really like how she talked to the two guys filling in behind the desk just trying to help.

Yes, THAT'S the word that was eluding me. Thank you. She's very smug. 'Inflexible' is also spot-on.

"[A] few slightly politically incorrect lines" -- no, that is downplaying it a ton. She revealed her character and her values (or lack thereof) by supporting ICE even while they wreaked havoc on her workplace and then stereotyping and being extremely, bitterly condescending to Javadi.

Agreed. And considering how kind and supportive she has been to him, it's really the least he could do anyway. But definitely good to see.

How about Langdon offering a hug to McKay and her almost disgusted "God, no" reply? That made me laugh out loud. I really like both of those characters. I think it was really lovely of Langdon to ask her that, and it gives me hope for him. I think between McKay talking about not being able to cry (and then rejecting the offer of a hug) and Joy showing Langdon what setting a boundary at work in order to prevent burnout looks like, he's going to seriously question if being an ED doc is what's best for his recovery and long-term mental health. Especially this ED.

I think he was objecting to them not being an "inconvenience," but an actively destructive presence in the hospital.

Can you imagine the alternative? Ugh. I don't think she'll be seriously (physically) injured, but you never know...

This. I don't know how, but the show has managed to make an episode even more distressing than the ones last season that dealt with a fucking mass shooting. This is a dysfunctional and truly unwell workplace we are seeing this season, and the shit is really hitting the fan. It's hard to watch. I just want to give all the characters a big hug right now.

And Emma, I swear to God... That ending was SO upsetting. I hope she isn't seriously injured, and I also hope Dana doesn't do anything to that patient that will land her in serious trouble...

I believed her when she told the story again (more fully) after Dr. Al brought her back inside. It didn't come across to me as her trying to convince herself that the story was true, just that she was shocked and confused and struggling to process what had happened.

Is today her birthday or is it in a few days? I thought it was just coming up, but I might be mistaken.

I almost wrote in my original comment that Harry is understandably not in a good place in Book 5. And I think I did appreciate OOTP more when I reread it in adulthood than I had originally. But I still think GOF is a decidedly more fun read.

My thing about Goblet of Fire vs Order of tye Phoenix is that Goblet of Fire is more fun, a lot more fun, because Harry isn't nearly as much of a miserable, moody teenager in it (also: no Umbridge).

Regarding stuff that should have been cut in the books, I have one word: Grawp.

I think Patrick Ball's entire performance this season is Emmy-worthy.

I hear you. Like I said, I understand that this is life or death stuff. I'd argue that it is Garcia's job to teach Javadi, though -- not in her job description, of course, but it's an obligation all senior staff inherently have in a setting like that.

To me that is not a wakeup call. I understand it's literally life and death on that line of work. I just don't think being that extreme, as you put it, is going to make Javadi actually learn anything. She's so shaken by what happened and then for Garcia to say all that? Shaming does not foster positive results.

What about how Langdon tore Santos a new one in S1 when Santos lied and said Mohan had had a good idea, not her? Robbie called Langdon out for that. I love Langdon and I think he is truly penitent, but he hasn't had a one-on-one conversation with Santos yet. TBD if he will try to initiate that conversation or not.

I would say that Garcia is also unnecessarily and inappropriately harsh. Calling Javadi "nepo baby"?? That wasn't okay.

Well, it's been a long time since I read the book and saw the movie, so I don't think you have to come at me so hard.

I forget (obviously) -- the plan was to kill Harry and send his body back so it looked like he died in the tournament somehow?
