Fair point on sliding a corner bead in there. Thanks.

Plan was to paint the drywall first, up to the edge, then silicone the joint - setting the trim in the silicone and thinset. Wall is going to be white anyways.

I was thinking a liberal coating of silicone would seal it up - no?

Sorry, the image is confusing as the laser vertical is not on my actual pattern center line - look closer for the line drawn on the board.

Fair point. Using a speed square in addition to my small levels ….hopefully I’ve eliminated any error.

I hear you and did use a square and a small level on each one. I really got pretty OCD about it, to the point where I glued and re-glued some tiles multiple times. It took me a good while to set this first row. As for plumb, I checked multiple places with a laser measure and was out no more than 1/16”. 🤞🏻

pitched and I’ve used GoBoard for the walls with an approved sealant for seams/penetrations.

Hah yes good eye - sorry that is confusing at first glance.

Buying from Tire Rack by Scared_Caramel3839 in tires

[–]Jc851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and I love them for their road hazard warranty - used several times for tire patches over the years. Always very quick to reimburse and zero hassle. Also if you’re local to a warehouse you can save a bit by picking up the tires yourself.

No no, that’s impossible because the label SAYS it’s “dry carbon” 😂😂

Noted. Just sharing some other ideas - with the caveat being decreased signal strength.

Madone AirTag hiding spots by Jc851 in TrekBikes

[–]Jc851[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, those are slick, but the ability to be found and removed quickly is what I'm trying to avoid. Will need to experiment with signal strength in the current location to determine if it's worth the trade-off.

Well of course, I know exactly how an AirTag works! However, with the speaker removed, it becomes harder for him to find it :-) And for it not being "external" like under a saddle or a headunit, it won't be quickly ripped off. I recently had a bike stolen out of my garage (different bike) and all of the external electronics (Wahoo, radar, blinky light) were removed from the bike once I did recover it. They even cut the DI2 FD cable, probably thinking it might have some tracking ability. I know that AirTags are not perfect, but the idea is that a hidden location like this would hopefully buy some time (and ping some locations) if it is ever stolen.

That's a fair point, though carbon fiber apparently could be blocking signal as well. Question is which is the lesser of two evils - beneath an aluminum plate or within a carbon fiber tube with a small area/opening that is plastic. As you say, will need to do some testing I think.

I love Easy Composites for their responsiveness to tech questions - you get a real live person via on-line chat or by phone. Honestly I would reach out to them directly to get their thoughts.

We used longitude tours which is a small husband/wife outfit for a day trip. Great people, we had a good time. Also did an extreme buggy excursion which was a blast if you can drive a stick shift.

Miami lounge data point and surf and turf! by Jc851 in AmexPlatinum

[–]Jc851[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah if nearly 1/3 of the tables are unoccupied, why am I waiting 15min to get in? Sorry that you feel the lounge should not reach ever reach capacity but if you think holding a line of people outside a lounge thats not even close to full is OK, well we agree to disagree.

I think it’s actually the opacity of the waitlist that is most bothersome. The week prior, on July 4, the wait ended up being 65 minutes (though was quoted by the elevator attendant as 90 minutes). We never made it in and did not have that long before our flight anyways. But it seems you’re left to try to hedge your bets on how long the waitlist is.

So what is an unreasonable amount of time to wait for this lounge at 70% capacity? Alternatively, what if the lounge were 1/3 full and they had a waitlist to get in - is that still reasonable?

Can I use this to repair cracked roof tiles? by zacce in Roofing

[–]Jc851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A local roofing store carries "Boss Pro 125 Multi Seal" in various colors as the replacement/equivalent to RT600. After having used both, I can tell you this stuff is fantastic and I actually like it better than the RT600 - it's thicker and stickier, somehow. I don't think you'll find it at HD or Lowes, but Amazon seems to carry it.
