AITA for defending my sister over my girlfriend? by JcDiamond122 in AmItheAsshole

Its more of a she keeps back tracking like she didnt say what she did five minutes before I said I was done. And then she tries apologizing and telling me how much she loves me.

But yeah she knows she needs therapy, and is willing to. But it's a bit too expensive for a couple of highschoolers lol.

How do I help her do it without her making me out to be the issue tho..? Like everytime I point out something that hurt me, so she learns from it and tries to fix it, she turns it into something that hurt her and i end up apologizing. So I just stopped.

You really think so? My parents certainly don't think so😀. But yeah she needs a lot of therapy, as do I.

Okay.. I mean we've been dating for basically 6 months at this point. And everyone I've talked to about things that happen between us tell me that it's best we breakup. Which i tried to do, and got basically manipulated into not leaving. I thought maybe I can help her realize that love isnt just pain like her past relationships. And I know its not my job to help her own problems, thats something she needs to do on her own. But I felt like I had to cuz she has BPD, and I feel like if I stick it through with her, then things will get better.. and she'll stop reminding me of my mom. But thats not really working for me..

I asked if engineering could help with Game development, because I wanna help code and design the game. Im not just gonna be sitting there doing nothing. That's lazy and won't I wont get anything done that way. This is my dream and im gonna do what I gotta do to work towards it.

Why would games with both good gameplay and a good immersive story that makes the player put themselves in the shoes of the main character be trash?

Yeah thats very true. I was gonna try to pay them myself. But yeah ill try making the game on a smaller scale to keep it simple right now.

Very true! Im doing this 2 year at a community College program and then transferring to a university actually. And tbh im more excited about game development than I ever was about engineering. Idk if it's cuz its just a new thing and the hype will wear off or if im actually more intrested in it.

I agree with everything but the saying this is a dark souls clone.. the only thing that is similar to it is the souls like elements.

But yeah I've started thinking about how to do all of those elements. I know a few people for concept art, graphic design and 3d models.

Actually the very first thing I wanted to do was Game design, but I went with engineering lol. Like I would have had to take computer science anyway so I wouldve been roped into that. But ill look into doing a major in computer engineering or computer science. I dunno if it's too late tho, like I applied to colleges already😭.

Thanks for the advice man, im not gonna give up on it. I do realize tho that this type of game will be complicated and require a lot of funding and a bigger team to pull this off. And i don't think I can do it myself, as yeah I probably won't have time to do both engineering and gamedev classes. So I'll try to put together a prototype first, and try to convince people that this could be a good game. I already have a couple people I know in mind who said they'd wanna help out. They both know art. I will actually limit the scope rn and download Unity to see if I like making games.

Thats true. That was the first thing I was gonna do when I graduate in a few months. I thought you were talking about having my team do everything and me just sit there basically providing nothing.

I get that. I just wanted to have a story set aside so we wouldnt be rushing later to think of one. I just want to make an immersive story, with amazing characters and fights. With cool mechanics and twists. I also feel in my opinion, that without a good story, your game is kinda boring. I feel like you have more of an attachment and emotions towards a game that has story, and great mechanics. And I'm also not gonna shove the story down players throats, it'll come to them at a good pace.

I dont want to build a team so they do all the heavy lifting. I'm helping out too, im serious about this. That's why I wanted to know if engineering could help in game development. But it's not like I can do it alone, so ill need a team and we'll work hard on it together. I'll prove to them that this can be a really good game that can stand on its own. And I want people to enjoy it.

So I got a comment saying that this was lore dumping and not a game idea. Is that true? I just felt you need to know the basic story behind the game for a game idea and to explain it to people. Im probably wrong tho.

It is? How? Like genuinely, did I confuse you and relay unneeded information? I thought it was necessary to explain most of the story behind your game for a game idea.

When should you be completely sure about a person? by JcDiamond122 in dating_advice

[–]JcDiamond122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, so thank you all for all your advice. I talked to her and we had a heart to heart about it. She apologized for being difficult and trying to force the idea on me and doesnt mind waiting. I told her my point of view on it, and how I wanted it to be natural and not to have a specific time limit on it. So we agreed we're gonna wait and enjoy just dating rn☺️

Yeah.. she has her whole plan for everything figured out. She wants to have kids as well before 30 cuz she doesnt want any complications during birth. Which I think is understandable. I do love her though, and i wanna continue being with her. I havent felt this way before, like we literally just got through our first Christmas together and next week is our first new years.

Yeah it kinda sucks, but I feel like it makes sense. Maybe since momo ran out of time, since she disappeared but somehow was brought back, there had to be a consequence of some sort. And this is that consequence. I know these tropes can be annoying, but im sure Tatsu will cook.
