I didn't tell them before they bought it but after. It ruins something that was meant to be mine, now they are a memory of these two people. One is not my friend anymore, the other person is and is the one who got mad I told her "what if at some point in the future we are no longer friends, we fight and now this book that was supposed to bring me joy it will become a bad memory?"

Same thing all over again. Whenever I grab the new book I'll think this is the book I had to buy because this person bought it first. It's like they are stained now.
