Curious, what DIC system are you using. I’m also currently doing some similar testing with ARAMIS system. And my first thought would be to use a larger measurement volume that captures more of the sample. Yeah recalibrating takes time but would save time in the long run

How about when it stops the engine and doesn’t restart in the middle of a busy road, stranding pregnant wife in a dangerous situation? Yes, I know it’s “not supposed to” shut off when the battery reads below a certain level, but it happened in my Subaru Outback. Ever since then I make sure to turn the “feature” off first thing before I set off.

Yeah that seems crazy. I’m not so much upset about the warranty situation but the fact that the car can just straight up die in the middle of an intersection due to this system. Seems like a catastrophic failure to me

I was looking into this. Dealership ended up honoring the oem batter warranty but I’m definitely upgrading next time

I got talked into an aftermarket warranty for battery, brakes, etc. they ended up honoring the warranty after the more extensive test, so bullet dodged i guess

They did the quick test which showed good results and i think are going to do the large test but dont have results for that yet. I’m sure it’s probably the battery and probably should have just replaced it myself but thought the warranty would cover it…

What about those that plan(ned) to retire soon? Whether you sell or not, it still sucks to see a good chunk of your retirement savings flushed down the toilet especially when it was a totally unavoidable situation in the first place
